The results for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2023 were declared on Wednesday, with over 1 lakh candidates qualifying for the exam.

According to the official GATE website, a total of 13.73 lakh candidates had registered for the exam, which was held in February 2023 across various centers in India. Out of these, 10.75 lakh candidates appeared for the exam.

The GATE exam is conducted every year by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) to test the aptitude and technical knowledge of candidates seeking admission to postgraduate programs in engineering, technology, and architecture.

This year, the exam was held in two sessions over four days, with multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and numerical answer type (NAT) questions. The exam covered topics in 29 different subjects, including engineering mathematics, civil engineering, computer science and information technology, and mechanical engineering, among others.

Out of the 10.75 lakh candidates who appeared for the exam, 1,00,244 qualified, with a qualifying percentage of 9.33%. The GATE score is valid for three years from the date of announcement of the results.

Candidates can check their results by logging in to the official GATE website using their registration number and password. The GATE scorecard, which contains the candidate’s name, photograph, registration number, GATE score, and rank, will be available for download from the website.

The GATE 2023 result has brought joy and relief to many candidates who had been anxiously waiting for it. With over 1 lakh candidates qualifying for the exam, there is likely to be stiff competition for admission to top engineering colleges in India.

The next step for qualified candidates is to apply for admission to postgraduate programs in their preferred colleges and universities. The GATE score is considered by many institutions as an important criterion for admission to postgraduate programs in engineering, technology, and architecture.

Overall, the GATE 2023 result has been a success, with a large number of candidates qualifying for the exam and getting one step closer to their dream of pursuing higher education in engineering and related fields.
