In what may be described as one of the spectacular events in Mumbai lately, Chetana College hosted TATVA 2024 – an inter-collegiate festival- to present its platform to over 2,000 students from more than 70 colleges across the city. The three-day event from December 18 to December 20 at the college’s Bandra East campus served to present student talent through competitions, exhibitions, and cultural performances. The fest captured a spirit of collaboration, creativity, and innovation under the theme ‘Together We Rise, Together We Shine’.

The event included enthusiastic participation of students pursuing their academic disciplines including management, accountancy, mass media, and information technology. A variety of competitions was present to cater for different interests and skill sets which included indoor sporting events, outdoor sporting events, intellectual quizzes, and creative challenges. Sportsmen were treated with exciting matches including box cricket, rink football, kabaddi, and volleyball, whereas board game fanatics fought like warriors in a chess and carrom competition.

Outside of sports, the festival really went out in terms of intellectual and technological exploration. It featured some great things including a science exhibition called ‘Vigyan Mela’ through which an exhibition was facilitated by BSc IT students. Different futuristic projects, including technology, were showcased. The display completely exemplified their technical skills along with innovative thinking, from artificial intelligence solutions to sustainable models of technology. It emphasized that young minds are more and more interested in technological advancement.

Meticulous planning on the part of the student leader of TATVA 2024 ensured eventful success by Dheeraj Nalawade and student leaders at large from all the departments-the BMS departments included Rohit Mhadya and Tanjeel Shaikh from the BAMMC. BSc. IT was being managed by the enthusiastic Mitali Choudhary; meanwhile, all BAF could enjoy thanks to the efforts taken by Ashutosh Nakti. All of them displayed true leadership skill that helped smoothen off the festival proceedings to the excitement of all, from participants and attendants at large.

The Annual Day celebrations, which took place from December 21 to December 23, seamlessly followed the vibrant inter-collegiate fest. This event further highlighted the commitment of the institution towards a well-rounded educational experience. The celebrations featured a distinguished lineup of prominent guests, including Rajnish Kamat, Vice-Chancellor, and Rupesh Raut, Joint Director of the Department of Higher Education Mumbai. Vice-Chancellor, Dr. BR Ambedkar University, Ramdas Atram and Satish Deshpande of Maharashtra Public Service Commission also attended the event with all decorum added to the effectiveness of the program.

Besides academic and institutional dignitaries, several celebrities from the entertainment industry attended the Annual Day celebrations. The actress Manava Naik, actors Rohan Pednekar and Samar Jai Singh, and mimicry artist Rohan Pyare were a few of them who added a touch of glamour to the event. Their interactions with students and appearances on stage brought excitement and enthusiasm to the festivities.

The highlight of the Annual Day was the array of cultural performances by students that beautifully captured the diverse cultural heritage and creative talent within the college community. It ranged from traditional dance performances to contemporary music acts, and in every performance, the stage seemed to come alive with vibrant displays of artistry and passion. The audience that comprised students, faculty, parents, and alumni was treated to a captivating display of talent which underscored the college’s focus on holistic development.
