Share
Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University will establish a community radio station at its East Delhi campus in the early months of the coming year 2025. It shall become the first community radio station at any university in the entire region. It is likely to have an outreach of around 20 kilometers, covering urban areas and adjoining villages, such as Jhilmil, Shahdara, and Mandawali.
The station is to provide open education resources, career guidance, and skill development programs. As well, it would address the gap between the outside community and modern education by propagating the relevant local issues and providing information useful to students as well as local community members.
The Rs 5-lakh project includes a state-of-the-art radio studio with cutting-edge technology. The University School of Mass Communication would manage the station, encouraging students and faculty to get involved in the production of programs. In this hands-on experience, students are able to hone their talent while giving valuable work to community development.
