UPSC announces Final Result of CDS Exam (II), 2023

Share

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the merit list for the Combined Defence Services Examination (II) of 2023. A total of 197 candidates have successfully passed following the September 2023 exams and subsequent Services Selection Board (SSB) interviews. These candidates are slated for admission into prestigious military academies including the 157th (DE) Course of the Indian Military Academy, Dehradun; the Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala, Kerala; and the Air Force Academy, Hyderabad for the No. 216 F(P) Training Course.

The list includes candidates who have appeared for multiple courses, with the breakdown of vacancies being 100 for the Indian Military Academy (including 13 reserved for NCC ‘C’ certificate holders), 32 for the Indian Naval Academy (with 6 reserved for NCC Naval Wing certificate holders through special entry), and 32 for the Air Force Academy (including 3 reserved for NCC Air Wing certificate holders through special entry).

Although 2675 candidates were initially recommended for the Indian Military Academy, 970 for the Indian Naval Academy, and 622 for the Air Force Academy based on the written test results, only those who passed the SSB interviews conducted by the Army Headquarters are included in the final count. These results do not take into account the outcomes of the medical examinations.

The UPSC advises that the confirmation of these results is provisional pending verification of candidates’ birth dates and educational qualifications. Candidates are required to submit relevant documents to the respective military headquarters based on their academy preference. Additionally, candidates should promptly update any changes in their address directly with the relevant military headquarters.

The results are accessible on the UPSC’s official website, and detailed marks will be posted following the final results of the Officers’ Training Academy (OTA) for the same examination cycle. For further assistance, candidates may reach out to the UPSC’s Facilitation Counter near Gate ‘C’ of the Commission’s Office.
