CBSE to Adopt National Curriculum Framework for Foundation Stage from 2023-24 Academic Session

Share

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced that it will adopt the National Curriculum Framework for Foundation Stage starting from the academic session of 2023-24. This framework, known as NCFFS 2022, has been developed by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) as per the mandate of the National Education Policy 2020. It outlines the competencies, learning outcomes, and principles that should guide teaching and learning at the foundational stage. The new structure of five-year education from nursery to class two will be introduced in schools offering education to students between the ages of 3-8. The NCFFS provides many examples and illustrations to enhance understanding and make concepts more accessible to teachers. Schools may gradually augment their infrastructure to include pre-primary classes for grades I to X/XII, while schools already running foundational classes may continue to offer three years of pre-primary education.
