Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) marked NSS Day by organising a blood donation and general health check-up drive at its Dwarka campus.

The drive was organised by the National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit of the University School of Biotechnology (USBT) and the University Health Centre under the NSS Cell. Nearly 250 students from different schools registered for blood donation, while more than 107 students donated blood.

The health check-up was conducted by the University Health Centre under Dr Tara Chand, Medical Officer, Dwarka Campus, and his team.

The event was attended by officials from the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, including Sarvan Ram, Regional Director, NSSRD; Rakesh Kumar, Youth Officer, NSSRD; and Vishal Saini, Assistant, NSSRD.

The drive was conducted under the guidance of Prof Varun Joshi, Programme Coordinator, and Prof Ravinder Kumar, Associate Programme Coordinator, NSS/NCC Cell, GGSIPU, along with Dr Ravi Kant, Programme Officer, USBT, and Sayan Chatterjee, Supporting Programme Officer, USBT. NSS volunteers and student coordinators also supported the event.

The NSS Cell also organised a promotional activity to encourage students to participate in the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue (VBYLD) 2026 Quiz contest. The initiative seeks to involve young people in discussions around nation-building and the vision of Viksit Bharat.
