GIIC e.V. German Indian Innovation Corridor and NLND Berlin, with support from Berlin Partner, on Tuesday officially launched INDIA DESK Germany in Berlin, a new platform aimed at helping Indian startups and innovation-led companies enter the German and European markets.
The launch event was held at NLND Neuland and brought together representatives from government, industry, corporates, innovation ecosystems and cross-border business networks.
The platform has been designed as a structured entry point for Indian startups, scaleups and technology-driven businesses looking to explore, validate and expand in Germany. INDIA DESK Germany will offer physical landing infrastructure, market-entry support, prototyping facilities and access to Berlin’s broader innovation ecosystem.
The initiative combines NLND Berlin’s physical innovation infrastructure, GIIC’s network and market-entry programming for Indian companies, and Berlin Partner’s support around business relocation, talent integration, funding guidance and workforce support.
The opening ceremony featured remarks from Abhishek Dubey, Franziska Giffey and Jochen Neumeyer.
The INDIA DESK Germany platform was introduced by Martin Eyerer, Jobst Schumacher and Siddharth Bhasin.
A panel discussion during the event focused on opportunities in Indo-German innovation collaboration, industrial transformation, startup-corporate partnerships and market entry pathways. The discussion featured Upen Barve, Martin Eyerer, Dr. Stefan Franzke and Dr. Şilan Hun. The session concluded with remarks from Jan Lachenmayer and Jobst Schumacher.
“INDIA DESK Berlin is more than a launch platform. It is a long-term bridge for bilateral business, trade and innovation between India and Germany. We want it to become the first destination for Indian companies looking to enter Germany, and for German corporates and institutions seeking meaningful engagement with India’s innovation economy,” said Siddharth Bhasin.
Martin Eyerer said India represents one of Germany’s biggest opportunities and added that NLND is positioned to serve as a landing platform for businesses and talent moving between Europe and India.
The INDIA DESK Germany initiative has been built around three layers. The soft-landing entry layer will provide workspace, onboarding support and ecosystem navigation. The market-entry execution layer will run a one-month structured cohort programme connecting companies with corporates, partners and pilot opportunities. The third layer will provide access to makerspaces, labs and pilot development infrastructure in Berlin.
The organisers said the platform is aimed at helping companies move from initial market entry to prototyping, pilot development, partner engagement and commercial validation in Germany and Europe.
Following the launch, INDIA DESK Germany will begin engaging with Indian startups, corporates, ecosystem partners and institutional stakeholders interested in Indo-German innovation collaboration and market expansion.
