The third round of Delhi University’s Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) for undergraduate admissions for the academic year 2025–26 has formally begun. Candidates previously accepted through Rounds I and II will have seat upgrades as one of the third round’s main features. Those who want a better program-college combination may now choose to switch. The upgrade and preference reorder window is open from 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 2 until 4:59 p.m. on Sunday, August 3. During this time, candidates have the option to formally state their desire to upgrade and change the sequence of their program-college preferences in line with their most recent decisions. This flexibility enables candidates to reevaluate their choices in light of their changing academic interests and the most recent seat matrix. 

Students who were given a seat in the previous rounds but now desire to switch to a better course or university need the upgrade option. Reordering preferences is crucial during this time since colleges will use the revised list to begin the seat reallocation process. Institutions will start handling and assigning improved seats based on merit and availability after the window closes and the system locks in the new selections. 

At the same time, the university is also opening a mid-entry window for new candidates as well as individuals whose applications were previously incomplete or denied. The start of this phase is scheduled for Friday, August 8, at 5 p.m., and it will end on Sunday, August 10, at 4:59 p.m. Students who were unable to participate in CSAS Phase I, failed to complete Phase II, or had their applications rejected for eligibility reasons, documentation errors, or inaccurate subject mapping are particularly affected by the mid-entry period. These applicants will be permitted to re-enter the admissions procedure if they pay a non-refundable mid-entry charge of ₹1,000. 

The mid-entry window not only allows new candidates to apply, but it also gives them the chance to change applications they have already made. Candidates have the option to reorder their priorities, fix mapping mistakes, and submit accurate documentation. Additionally, this window serves as a welcoming second opportunity for many candidates because it also allows applicants who were not given a seat in prior rounds to apply again. 

Crucially, all preferences submitted by 5 p.m. on August 10 will be taken into account for the following round of allocations. Consequently, before making a decision, candidates are highly advised to review the most recent vacancy matrix. Due to the dynamic nature of seating arrangements across institutions and courses, the matrix is an essential resource for making well-informed judgments. 

The institution will move forward with new seat assignments after the mid-entry window closes. During the acceptance window, which runs from Wednesday through Sunday between August 13 and August 17, chosen candidates will be need to accept their allocated seats. The respective colleges will be responsible for reviewing applications and approving them if all requirements are satisfied during this period. 

The last step in the procedure is paying the fees online, which must be done by Tuesday, August 19 at 4:59 p.m. Since failing to make the payment will cause the seat to be forfeited, this deadline is very important. Timely fee submission is therefore necessary to guarantee admission.
