JD Institute of Fashion Technology has expanded its academic portfolio with the launch of new undergraduate and postgraduate programmes across design, luxury, branding, entrepreneurship and business innovation. The institute has also set up a dedicated Department of Design to strengthen interdisciplinary learning and industry-focused education.

The newly introduced programmes are aimed at addressing changing industry needs and preparing students for careers that combine creativity, business strategy and technology. According to the institute, the expansion reflects the growing demand for professionals with hybrid skill sets in the creative economy.

The new undergraduate offerings include B.Des programmes in Visual Communication, Communication Design, Product Design, and Fashion Communication & Styling. The institute has also launched BBA programmes in Design Entrepreneurship & Analytics (DEA), Luxury Brand Management, Design Management, and Fashion Business & PR.

At the postgraduate level, JD Institute has introduced an MBA in Design Entrepreneurship & Analytics (DEA) and an MBA in Luxury, Branding & Strategy (LBDS).

Alongside the new courses, the Department of Design will focus on curriculum development, industry engagement and cross-disciplinary collaboration. The institute said the department is intended to support innovation-led learning and help students adapt to evolving career opportunities in the creative sector.

Commenting on the development, Rinesh Dalal, Director of JD Institute of Fashion Technology, said that future-ready education must move beyond traditional academic silos. He said creative professionals today are expected to combine design thinking with business understanding, communication skills and technology, and the new programmes are designed to offer applied learning and industry exposure.

The institute noted that industries are increasingly being shaped by digital transformation, branding, luxury consumption and content-driven business models, creating a need for structured and industry-aligned creative education.

Founded in 1988, JD Institute of Fashion Technology offers specialised programmes in fashion and interior design. The institute operates 46 centres across India and also has an international presence in Malaysia and Nepal, with plans to expand to Dubai. It states that it has a placement record of 99.67 per cent.
