The Odisha Board of Secondary Education (BSE) formally released the results for Class 10 examinations of the 2024-25 academic year on May 2. The eagerly awaited results ushered in a spate of relief and celebration for students, parents, and schools alike across the state. Altogether, 485,240 students cleared the exam successfully with an overall pass percentage of a staggering 94.69%.
This year, the board administered the Class 10 exams from February 21 to March 6, 2025. The exams were taken in a single shift from 10 AM to 12:30 PM in different centers of Odisha. A total of 5,12,438 students had registered for the exam, and among them, 5,04,002 students attended. The attendance speaks of a high turnout rate, testifying to the increasing focus on education and student participation throughout the state.
Out of the passed students, 240,251 were boys and had a pass percentage of 94% amongst male candidates. In contrast, 244,612 girls passed the examination and had a pass percentage of 96%. The girls’ performance remains impressive and follows a trend of consistently better performance compared to boys in recent years. The gender-wise differential performance is also an indicator of increasing educational awareness and empowerment of female students in Odisha.
To the success story, there were a total of 3,272 schools in Odisha that had achieved a 100% pass result in the examination. What it implies is that all students in these schools cleared the Class 10 board examination. Such a result indicates the commitment of the teachers, academic guidance given by institutions, and the sustained effort made by the students.
The evaluation standards needed students to get at least 33% marks in every subject as well as a minimum of 20% in the aggregate to be considered passed. Although the overall results were encouraging, 17,384 students failed to clear the examination. These students, nonetheless, have been offered choices to either request revaluation of their answer sheets or sit for the supplementary examinations, which will be held by the Odisha Board later this year. Information on revaluation and supplementary exams will be released shortly on official sites.
Students are now able to access their personal results and mark sheets on the official websites of the board, that is, orissaresults.nic.in and bseodisha.nic.in. To view their results, students simply have to log in to the site and put in their roll number or name to view their mark sheet, which can be downloaded and stored for future reference. The online system has been made efficient to make sure that all students can easily access their results without encountering any technical barriers.
Odisha Board has placed a big stress on timely results checking and the resultant steps, like revaluation application or planning for supplementary exams, in order to prevent eleventh-hour confusion. The board has also suggested students and parents check the IE Education portal at education.indianexpress.com for any revaluation processes information, supplementary exam dates, and other Class 10 results-related notifications.
The announcement of the BSE Odisha Class 10 results is an achievement moment for lakhs of students, making them eligible to pursue their next academic endeavor, be it in higher secondary education or vocational training. Having a great pass percentage, the state remains exhibiting promising movements towards its development in education, bringing up a new era of learning with the capability to accept the future.
While Odisha is celebrating the triumph of its Class 10 students, the BSE has once again pledged its commitment to imparting quality education and assistance to all the students. The board’s efforts towards holding fair and transparent examinations and effective evaluation and result declaration have been valued by educationists and parents.
