CUET UG 2025 Begins With Key Guidelines By NTA

Share

The Common University Entrance Test Undergraduate admissions, CUET (UG) 2025, officially started from May 13, 2025. National Testing Agency (NTA) conducted the exam and is due to run up to June 3. It has more than one million aspirants set to take the exam and is currently one of India’s largest entrance examinations, an entrance point into numerous undergraduate programs provided by the central, state, and other participating universities all over the country.

The NTA has already issued admit cards for exams from May 13 to May 16. Candidates appearing on subsequent dates can look forward to the issuing of admit cards in due time. The test will be held in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode at various centres not just all over India but even in some international locations. This format provides an equivalized assessment environment and a level playing field for candidates from different backgrounds and areas.

To achieve a smooth and equitable conduct of the examination, the NTA has released an exhaustive set of guidelines and instructions. These guidelines are essential and need to be followed strictly because any breach might result in disqualification or withholding of entry from the examination centre.

One of the most essential elements of the guidelines is with regard to reporting time. Aspirants are requested to report to their allotted exam centres as per the reporting time specified on their admit cards. NTA has specifically clarified that no candidate will be granted entry after the gate closing time. To escape any last-minute confusion or delay, students are requested to report to the examination hall at least 15 to 30 minutes prior to the scheduled time. Such a buffer period would allow candidates to relax and finish the verification procedure required without nervousness.

It is equally critical to take all the necessary documents and materials along to the test centre. Admit card prints, which form the main entry and identification document, must be taken by the candidates. The candidates also have to carry one passport-sized photo that is the same as uploaded in the application form. A proper photo ID proof is also required for identification. The IDs acceptable are Aadhaar card, PAN card, passport, voter ID, or driving license. All these should be produced in original form and must be handy for verification. A transparent ball-point pen, which will be used for any rough calculations or for signing attendance records, should be carried by the students as well.

NTA has maintained tough norms for banned articles at the test centre. Candidates need to avoid bringing mobile phones, smart watches, electronic devices, Bluetooth headsets, earphones, or microphones. Even not-so-innocent items like wallets, handbags, and caps cannot be brought in. Ornaments, jewellery, and metal articles are also not permitted. The only exception to these limitations is for medical-condition students, who can be permitted to bring certain food items or medical devices. Such candidates, however, are required to carry proper supporting documents or medical certificates to substantiate the need.

The agency has also provided a dress code to be observed on the day of the exam. Candidates are recommended to wear plain, light clothes. Clothes with intricate designs, buttons, badges, or embroidery should be avoided, as these may lead to further security inspections. Students donning religious or cultural apparel are asked to report early, so there is enough time for the verification process without any hold-ups. Dress code for footwear has also been clearly communicated—shoes and high heels are not allowed within the exam centre. Slippers or sandals with very thin soles are permitted only, to present minimal risk of concealed materials.

These detailed instructions are designed to ensure the integrity and impartiality of the CUET UG 2025 examination process. Being one of the most competitive entrance examinations in the nation, CUET has a crucial role to play in determining the academic careers of lakhs of students. It is hence imperative that all candidates are thoroughly aware of and adhere to the guidelines set forth by the NTA.

With the test now in progress, students are encouraged to stay calm, concentrate on preparation, and report on time with all necessary documents and materials. As CUET UG 2025 proceeds over the next few weeks, compliance with these norms will assist in providing a smooth and successful test experience for all concerned.
