The University of Delhi (DU) has formally released the results of odd semester exams conducted in November-December 2024. The results are related to a number of undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) courses, including the popular courses Bachelor of Arts (BA), Master of Arts (MA), Master of Science (MSc), and a number of certificate and diploma courses.
Students who sat for these examinations can now check their results online from the official result portal of the university. This news comes as a relief and expectation for thousands of students studying in both regular programmes as well as students studying under the School of Open Learning (SOL). Results being available online make it easily accessible and convenient for all the candidates irrespective of the study mode.
The scorecard portal, exam.du.ac.in, has been made operational so that students can view and download their scorecards. For accessing the scorecards, students will be required to log in via their own roll number and choose their own course and semester accordingly. On logging in, a digital mark sheet will be generated that the students can download or print for their records.
The DU mark sheet is detailed and contains personal and academic details. Personal details included are the name of the student, names of father and mother, name of college, enrollment number, etc. Academically, the mark sheet gives a clear picture of the name of the course and programme, semester, paper code and title for each subject, maximum marks and marks scored, subject credits, aggregate CGPA, and the overall division obtained by the student.
Students are instructed to download their mark sheets carefully. It is essential that every detail is double-checked for correctness since any name, subject title, or marks mismatch could have implications on subsequent academic or administrative procedures. If there is any error, the university has requested the students to immediately report it to their concerned college or the university authorities to make requisite adjustments.
The odd semester exams are a crucial part of Delhi University’s academic schedule. Held typically between November and December, the exams test the academic progress of students halfway through the academic year. As prestigious as DU is considered to be among India’s top universities, the exam procedure and result announcement are eagerly anticipated events.
This year, the result declaration has been made smoother and more accessible due to the digitisation efforts undertaken by the university. The online portal is not only faster but also reduces the burden on physical administrative infrastructure, benefiting both students and staff.
The students of the School of Open Learning, especially, have welcomed the inclusion and access with ease because it enables them to keep pace with their study progress without going to the campus. The SOL programme is formulated for students who are unable to attend regular classes and mostly rely solely on online modes of study and communication.
The university also advises students to keep a printed copy or a downloaded PDF of their scorecard, which may be needed for future academic applications, revaluation requests, or job applications. Additionally, the result document is an official academic record and will be used to calculate the cumulative grade point average (CGPA) at the end of the course.
For students dissatisfied with their results or who are of the view that there has been a slip-up in assessing, the university will be shortly announcing information about the rechecking or revaluation procedure. Such a procedure generally entails the sending of a written application accompanied by a nominal payment and is within deadlines to be strictly followed by students.
In summary, the announcement of the odd semester results is a key academic milestone for thousands of students in Delhi University. The university has gone a long way to simplify the process and provide effortless access to results via its website. While students download and peruse their scores, the occasion also serves as a reminder of the value of periodic academic reviews in determining their future careers and academic paths.
