IPU To Confer Degrees to 24,456 Students at 17th Convocation Ceremony on 11 April

Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (IPU) will host its 17th convocation ceremony on April 11 at its Dwarka campus, marking a major milestone for 24,456 students who will receive their degrees.
According to Prof. Gulshan Kumar, Controller of Examinations, the ceremony will include the awarding of:
- PhD Degrees: 110
- MPhil Degrees: 12
- Master’s Degrees: 2,624
- Bachelor’s Degrees: 20,739
- MBBS Degrees: 483
- MD, MS, and Ayurveda Vachaspati Degrees: 488
A total of 74 students will be honored with gold medals, including one instituted in memory of the late Dr. B.P. Joshi, former Registrar of the University.
Other notable honors include:
- Siddharth Khitoliya Award: 1 student
- Ashok Sawhney and Suman Sawhney Awards: 2 students for excellence in technology and medicine
The convocation will be presided over by the University Chancellor and Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, Shri Vinay Kumar Saxena. The convocation address will be delivered by Padma Shri Prof. Ashutosh Sharma, President of the Indian National Science Academy.
Padma Shri Prof. (Dr.) Mahesh Verma, Vice Chancellor of IPU, will present the University Report during the event.
Distinguished guests expected to attend include Delhi’s Chief Minister Smt. Rekha Gupta, Higher Education Minister Shri Ashish Sood, Chief Secretary Shri Dharmendra, and Higher Education Secretary Smt. Nandini Paliwal.
