JEE Advanced AAT 2025 Results Declared By IIT Kanpur

Share

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur has officially announced the results of the Architecture Aptitude Test (AAT) 2025. The examination, which serves as a gateway for candidates aspiring to pursue the Bachelor of Architecture (BArch) programme at select IITs, was conducted on June 6, 2025. The test took place in a single shift from 9:00 AM to 12:00 noon across designated centres.

Candidates who appeared for the exam can now access their scorecards by visiting the official JEE Advanced portal at jeeadv.ac.in. The scorecards are hosted on the candidate portal, which can be accessed at cportal.jeeadv.ac.in. To view their results, candidates must log in using their JEE Advanced 2025 registration number and other login credentials. Once logged in, they can download and print their scorecards for future reference.

Only those candidates who had earlier qualified in the JEE Advanced 2025 were eligible to appear for AAT 2025. The AAT is a crucial examination for students seeking admission into BArch programmes offered by three IITs — IIT (BHU) Varanasi, IIT Kharagpur, and IIT Roorkee. These institutes are the only IITs that currently offer the BArch course, making the AAT a specialised and competitive test for architecture aspirants.

The announcement of the AAT results marks another step forward in the overall JEE Advanced 2025 process. Candidates who have successfully cleared the AAT are now eligible to apply for BArch admissions at the aforementioned IITs. However, it is important to note that clearing the AAT alone does not guarantee admission. The final seat allotment will be done through the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) 2025 counselling process, which includes both general JEE Advanced ranks and AAT qualification.

As per the procedure, all candidates who have secured a valid rank in JEE Advanced 2025 are eligible to participate in the joint seat allocation process. This process will be managed and coordinated by JoSAA 2025, which oversees admissions to various undergraduate programmes offered by IITs, NITs, IIITs, and other Government Funded Technical Institutions (GFTIs). The counselling process involves the online filling-in of preferences, where students can select their desired courses and institutes based on their ranks and eligibility.

The detailed schedule for JoSAA counselling will be released separately on the official JoSAA website. During this counselling process, candidates who have qualified in the AAT will have to indicate their interest in BArch programmes while filling in their choices. Only those who have cleared the AAT and secured a JEE Advanced rank will be considered for BArch admissions.

In the coming days, JoSAA will also make available the list of academic programmes and seats offered by each IIT for the academic year 2025-26. This list will be provided during the choice-filling stage and will help students make informed decisions based on their interests, AAT performance, and rank in JEE Advanced.

The AAT is designed to test the candidate’s aptitude for architecture and evaluates skills such as freehand drawing, geometrical drawing, three-dimensional perception, imagination and aesthetic sensitivity, and architectural awareness. As such, it is distinct from the main JEE Advanced exam, which focuses on Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. The AAT provides a platform for students with an inclination towards design and creativity to pursue a rigorous architecture education at premier IIT institutions.

Students who qualify through AAT and secure a seat in the BArch programme will undergo a comprehensive five-year undergraduate curriculum that blends engineering fundamentals with architectural design, theory, and practical training. The BArch programme at IITs is known for its academic rigor, world-class faculty, and state-of-the-art infrastructure, making it one of the most sought-after architecture degrees in the country.

Candidates are advised to stay updated with announcements on both the JEE Advanced and JoSAA portals to avoid missing any critical deadlines or information related to the counselling and admission process. With the declaration of AAT 2025 results, the final leg of the admission journey for aspiring architecture students has begun, and timely action will be crucial for securing a seat in the BArch programmes at IITs.
