Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) announced results of Telangana State Law Common Entrance Test (TS LAWCET 2025) and Telangana State Postgraduate Law Common Entrance Test (TS PGLCET 2025). These entry tests, through which candidates can receive an opportunity to study three-year and five-year LLB and postgraduate LLM courses in Telangana, were organized by Osmania University, Hyderabad. The results have been announced after a long wait, as there was a huge response in these tests this year.
The students who had written the exams can now verify and download their results from the Telangana LAWCET official website. The students need to log in by providing the LAWCET or PGLCET hall ticket number and date of birth to check their scorecards. The scorecard can then be downloaded and printed. The announcement of results initiates the subsequent phase of the admission process, i.e., counselling, merit listing, and seat allotment.
The LAWCET and PGLCET 2025 exams were conducted on 6 June 2025 in three sessions to cater to the different courses and provide a hassle-free and systematic examination process. The first test was conducted from 9:30 am to 11:00 am, the second test from 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm, and the third test from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm. All these tests evaluated the capability and legal thinking of the candidates, which are needed to study law and become law professionals.
57,715 candidates had registered for the LAWCET and PGLCET 2025 tests. Out of these, 45,609 students took the test. This huge turnout attests to the increasing popularity of legal education and the need for these entrance tests to get admission into esteemed Telangana law schools. The tests were for three-year and five-year undergraduate law courses, as well as postgraduate courses in law.
Provisional answer keys were released to the candidates after the completion of the exams on 11 June 2025. Students were given permission by the Telangana State Council of Higher Education to raise objections against the provisional keys until 13 June 2025. This was done to make sure that the evaluation process is transparent and for students to object if there are any irregularities in the answer keys.
With the results being announced officially, the admission procedure will proceed to the subsequent phase — the centralised counselling process. This will cement the final seat allocation for the applicants against different participating law colleges in Telangana. Students will be notified on an individual basis about the counselling registration process and procedure. After students register for counselling, authorities will announce the merit list and cutoff marks for the three-year and five-year LLB courses.
The online counselling process will consist of a number of steps like registration, document verification, entry of web options, and allotment of seats. Eligible students with qualifying marks in the entrance test are able to undergo this process. The list of merit shall be prepared on the basis of marks secured by the candidates in entrance test, and it shall be a key to decide their chances of admission.
After the counselling procedure starts, the shortlisted students will be required to do online registration and document submission within the given time frame. After that, course-wise cut-off marks will be declared by the authority on the basis of which the students will be admitted in the chosen law colleges. The LLB three-year and five-year courses will have different merit and cutoff lists so that no bias or irregularities occur while allocating the seats.
The results and subsequent counseling process are a milestone for future law students in Telangana. As the results are announced, the students can now start making preparations for the next phase, which involves document verification, preparation of options for wanted colleges, and tracking of significant counselling dates.
Telangana State LAWCET and PGLCET have now become focal points in the state of legal education that provide a merit-based and standardized platform for students to secure admission into some of the state’s best law schools. With the joint efforts of Osmania University and TSCHE, the process has been made larger, transparent, and student-friendly to ensure worthy candidates get an opportunity to develop their legal aspirations.
