West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) has made it official, announcing that May 7, 2025, at 12:30 pm, would be the time when the Class XII board exams results would be announced. Thousands of students appearing for the West Bengal Higher Secondary (HS) exams earlier in the year welcome this much-anticipated news with open arms. The candidates will be able to view their results online on the board’s official website and also through the DigiLocker mobile app. The board has made it clear that the online scorecard is only a provisional marksheet. The students will need to pick up their original marksheets from their schools, which will be available from May 8, 2025, at 10 am onwards.
To make the process of checking results easy, WBCHSE will be hosting Class XII results on its official site, https://wbchse.wb.gov.in. After the results are made available, students can access them by logging in using roll number and date of birth to view and download their provisional marksheets. Under its digital initiative, the council has also made the marksheets accessible on DigiLocker, a government platform for safe storage of verified documents. Students can either download the DigiLocker mobile app or check https://results.digilocker.gov.in to view their digital marksheets. They would need to login using their Aadhaar number, choose the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education from the drop-down menu, opt for the option of ‘WBCHSE HS Marksheet 2025,’ and provide the asked credentials like roll number and year of passing. After fetching the document, it can be stored directly into their DigiLocker account.
The online announcement of results is a big relief for students who have been eagerly waiting for their scores. But WBCHSE has clarified that although digital scorecards are available immediately, the official hard copies of the results need to be taken from the respective schools of the students. These original documents will prove to be very important for college admissions, competitive exams, and other future prospects.
Students are requested to have their roll numbers and personal details handy for a hassle-free experience while viewing their results online. Discrepancies in the electronic marksheets should be reported to school authorities at once for rectification. This preventive step will ensure that the official marksheet is free of errors when picked up.
Apart from making the results available, the board has also asked students and parents to use only official websites like the WBCHSE portal and DigiLocker for genuine information. With numerous unofficial portals sometimes misreporting or misrepresenting facts, WBCHSE has asked for caution to prevent confusion or misinformation.
The Class XII result is a determining milestone in students’ academic path as it creates avenues for further education, scholarship, and entrance exams. As soon as the results are announced, most of the students will likely start seeking admission to undergraduate programs in the streams of Science, Commerce, and Arts at colleges in West Bengal and across India.
This news breaks at a period when a few other Indian state boards are also preparing to come out with Class 10 and Class 12 results. Candidates in Maharashtra, Telangana, and Uttar Pradesh are equally waiting for the results. Education is abuzz with news related to exam scores, college enrollment, scholarship offers, and the policy changes with regard to entrance exams.
Thus, May 7 is an important date for the students of West Bengal who wrote their Class XII board examinations this year. Although the results will first be made available online in a provisional manner, the original mark sheets will be ready for collection from schools the next day. Students are advised to visit the official WBCHSE portal and DigiLocker for correct and timely information. As results declaration is at hand, students are now gearing up to make their next significant leap towards a prosperous academic and professional life.
