Share

The Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) 2025 is scheduled to be conducted on February 22 and 23, 2025, for candidates seeking admission to various branches of the Indian Air Force (IAF). The examination will be held in two shifts each day — the first session will run from 10 am to 12 noon, while the second session will take place from 3 pm to 5 pm. Candidates appearing for the morning shift are required to report by 8 am, whereas those taking the afternoon session must arrive by 1 pm.

The AFCAT 2025 exam will be conducted online, and it will consist of 100 objective-type questions in English only. The maximum marks for the test are 300, and the time given to complete the test is two hours. The subjects covered in the examination are General Awareness, Verbal Ability in English, Numerical Ability, Reasoning, and Military Aptitude Test. As the subjects are very wide, candidates should prepare and practice all the sections very well to ensure a competitive performance.

One of the critical aspects of the examination is its marking scheme. For every correct answer, candidates will be awarded three marks. However, one mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer, making accuracy essential to secure a good score. No marks will be awarded or deducted for unattempted questions. To ensure fairness across different shifts, the IAF will implement a normalization process using statistical methods to rationalize candidates’ scores before declaring the final results.

In preparation for the upcoming examination, the Indian Air Force has provided a valuable resource — an online practice test available on its official website, https://careerindianairforce.cdac.in or https://afcat.cdac.in. Candidates are encouraged to use this tool to familiarize themselves with the exam pattern and improve their time management skills. The practice test simulates the actual examination environment, offering candidates an opportunity to gauge their readiness.

The admit cards for AFCAT 2025 will be released on February 7, 2025, from 5 pm onwards. Candidates who have registered for the examination can download their respective e-Admit cards by visiting the official AFCAT website, https://careerindianairforce.cdac.in, and logging in with their username and password. Additionally, the e-Admit card will be sent to the registered email IDs of the candidates. The candidates are supposed to ensure all their personal details printed on the admit card match all that they had provided during the registration process.

The candidates carrying the printout of e-Admit card along with an identification document would be allowed within the examination hall. It is also crucial for them to read and adhere to the instructions mentioned on the rear side of the admit card to avoid any issues on the exam day. The IAF has emphasized that candidates’ admission to the examination is purely provisional, based on the information provided during registration. If any discrepancies or false information are detected during the verification process, the candidature will be canceled.

The AFCAT examination serves as a gateway for candidates aspiring to join the Indian Air Force in various capacities, including flying, ground duty (technical), and ground duty (non-technical) branches. The eligibility criteria for admission to these courses are determined by factors such as age, educational qualifications, and course preferences. Candidates are advised to carefully review the eligibility requirements and ensure they meet the criteria for their desired course.

The AFCAT 2025 examination is a significant opportunity for aspiring Air Force personnel to take their first step toward serving the nation. With a comprehensive syllabus and a competitive marking scheme, candidates must adopt a strategic approach to their preparation. Thorough practice, familiarity with the exam pattern, and careful attention to detail during the examination will be critical in securing success.

As the examination dates approach, candidates are reminded to stay updated by regularly visiting the official AFCAT website for important notifications and information. Following the guidelines provided by the IAF will ensure a smooth and hassle-free examination experience. The Indian Air Force remains committed to conducting a fair and transparent selection process, helping candidates fulfill their dreams of serving in one of the nation’s most prestigious defense forces.
