IIT Roorkee Releases GATE 2025 Exam Schedule

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee has released the subject-wise schedule for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2025. The much-awaited exam will be conducted in a computer-based test (CBT) mode across four dates: February 1, 2, 15, and 16, 2025. This year, GATE 2025 will cover a total of 30 papers, and the exam will be conducted in two shifts each day.

The first shift for this exam is called the Forenoon Session, commencing at 9:30 am and candidates need to reach before 8:00 am. The second shift would be the Afternoon Session, starting at 2:30 pm with candidates reporting by 1:00 pm. The arrangements are made in a manner that every candidate is left with ample time to report at the examination center to carry out all the formality before the test starts.

The subject-wise schedule of the upcoming GATE examination has been done with all care so that the largest number of engineering disciplines may be included. The same schedule gives candidates ample preparation for the specific papers to be given. The February 1, 2025 examination will start at 9:30 am to 12:30 pm Forenoon Session including Computer Science (CS1), Agricultural Engineering (AG) and Mathematics (MA) papers. The Afternoon Session on the same day will run from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm, covering papers in Computer Science (CS2), Metallurgical Engineering (MT), Mining Engineering (NM), Textile Engineering and Fibre Science (TF), and Instrumentation Engineering (IN).

The Mechanical Engineering, Production and Industrial Engineering, and Architecture and Planning will be featured on February 2, 2025 during the Forenoon Session. For the Afternoon Session, Electrical Engineering will dominate between 2:30 and 5:30 in the afternoon.

Moving on to February 15, 2025, the Forenoon Session will comprise papers in Chemistry (CY), Aerospace Engineering (AE), Data Science and Engineering (DA), Environmental Science and Engineering (ES), and Production and Industrial Engineering (PI). The Afternoon Session will comprise papers in Electronics and Communication Engineering (EC), Geology and Geophysics (GE), Humanities and Social Sciences (XH), Biomedical Engineering (BM), and Ecology and Evolution (EY).

Finally, on February 16, 2025, the forenoon session will consist of Civil Engineering (CE1), Geology and Geophysics (GG), Chemical Engineering (CH), Physics (PH), and Biotechnology (BT). In the afternoon session, Civil Engineering (CE2), Statistics (ST), Engineering Sciences (XE), Life Sciences (XL), and Mining Engineering (MN) will be tested.

All those appearing for GATE 2025 can see that the admit card is going to be available in the January month. Admit card is a compulsory carry during the examination by each one of the candidate at the examination hall. Candidates need to have details that have been mentioned on it along with the date of time of the center he/ she has to reach the examination hall along with certain guidelines for the examination day.
