The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Postgraduate (NEET-PG) 2025, originally slated for June 15, could be postponed in view of delays in stray round counselling for NEET PG 2024. Yet, nothing has been formally announced by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) or the National Medical Commission (NMC), and postponement is being speculated on.

Aspirants looking forward to NEET PG 2025 are requested to closely monitor the official websites of NBEMS and NMC for updates on the final exam date. The doubt arises due to the delayed counselling process of the 2024 session, which has affected the planning of the next exam. Even though reports indicate a chance of delay, there has been no word from the authorities in this regard, and the aspirants remain in suspense.

Earlier, the NMC had issued a public circular detailing important considerations for the NEET-PG 2025 exam. The Post Graduate Medical Education Board (PGMEB) of the NMC, in association with the NBEMS, considered factors like internship completion dates while scheduling the exam. According to the university data, the government declared that the target date for finishing the internship should be July 31, 2025, and the indicative date of NEET PG 2025 would be June 15, 2025. This was proposed as an initial schedule to make it easy for the candidates to plan their studies, but latest news shows that there may be more alterations down the line.

The NBEMS has already come out with a preliminary schedule for different medical examinations held by the board. This includes the Foreign Dental Screening Test (FDST) for BDS graduates on January 12, 2025, and the DrNB (Superspecialty) Final Theory Examinations from January 17 to 19, 2025. Other important exams like NEET-MDS 2025 are planned on January 31, while Fellowship Entrance Test (FET) 2024 is planned for February 16. Also, the NEET-SS 2024 exam is planned on March 29 and 30, 2025. These exam dates have been released to facilitate preparation in advance, but the chances of change exist.

Even in the absence of certainty for NEET-PG 2025, NBEMS has kept on issuing notifications for other medical tests like the Formative Assessment Test (FAT) for FNB courses, DNB (Broad Specialty) Final Practical Examinations, and DNB-Post Diploma Centralised Entrance Test (PDCET) 2025. Though these exams have been slated provisionally, aspirants are requested to keep themselves abreast with official statements so as to be protected against false information.

Until now, there has not been any new notice from the authorities about the final date for NEET PG 2025. The indecision over setting a schedule for the exam has made the candidate speculative, most of whom look to get to know the clarity for scheduling study properly. The prolongation in counselling for the previous session also fueled the rumors but official statements are yet to deliver any clarification for postponing the exam.
