The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially extended the enrollment deadline for the NIFT entrance test 2026, offering relief to thousands of applicants aiming for admission to the National Institute of Fashion Technology. As per the rearmost announcement, campaigners can now complete the NIFTEE 2026 enrollment process online until January 13, 2026. The decision has been taken to ensure wider participation, particularly after the addition of new examination metropolises across India.

The extension of the NIFT admission 2026 timeline is anticipated to profit scholars from different regions who may have faced logistical challenges before. According to NTA, the revised schedule aligns with efforts to promote equal access to the fashion design entrance test while also supporting aspirants seeking UG and PG admissions at NIFT for the 2026–27 academic session.

Late Figure Window and Correction Schedule blazoned

In addition to the extended enrollment deadline, NTA has also blazoned a late operation window for campaigners who fail to apply by January 13. Similar aspirants will be allowed to submit their forms between January 14 and January 16, 2026, by paying a fresh late figure of Rs 5,000. This provision aims to accommodate last-nanosecond aspirants who may miss the regular deadline due to unlooked-for circumstances.

The agency has also verified that the operation correction window will open from January 18 to January 19, 2026. During this period, registered campaigners will be able to make corrections to specific fields in their operation forms. NTA has advised campaigners to precisely review their details before final submission, as no changes will be permitted beyond the correction window.

sanctioned reason behind deadline extension

Explaining the explanation behind the decision, NTA stated that the extension was granted following a formal request from the National Institute of Fashion Technology. The ideal, according to the sanctioned announcement, is to enable broader participation and give sufficient time for campaigners from recently added examination metropolises to apply.

“In view of the request entered from NIFT, and with the ideal of enabling wider participation of campaigners and furnishing an acceptable occasion to a larger number of applicants, it has been decided to extend the timelines for submission of online operation forms for NIFTEE-2026,” the announcement read. The move is seen as part of NTA’s ongoing efforts to ameliorate availability and inclusivity in public-position entrance examinations.

Examination Date and Programs Covered

The NIFTEE 2026 examination is listed to be conducted on February 8, 2026 (Sunday). The entrance test will serve as the gateway for admission to a wide range of programs offered by NIFT, including undergraduate, postgraduate, public Side Entry Admission (NLEA), Artisans Category, and PhD courses for the 2026–27 academic year.

The test will be held in 100 metropolises across India, covering expansive geographic content. Campaigners will be suitable to take the test in Hindi and English, depending on their preference and the nature of the program they’ve applied for. The multi-city approach is anticipated to reduce trip burdens and make the examination process more accessible for aspirants.

Mode of Examination and Availability

NTA has verified that the NIFTEE 2026 will be conducted through a combination of Computer-Grounded Test (CBT) and Paper-Grounded Test (PBT) modes. The mode of examination will vary depending on the course applied for, as per NIFT admission guidelines.

By offering both testing formats, NTA aims to accommodate campaigners from different academic and technological backgrounds. This mongrel approach is particularly salutary for aspirants from regions with limited digital structure, ensuring that no seeker is disadvantaged due to mode-related constraints.

Operation Process and Functionary Support

Eligible campaigners are needed to submit their operations through the sanctioned NTA examination portal. The online process involves enrollment, form completion, figure payment, and downloading the evidence runner for future reference. Aspirants are explosively advised to retain a dupe of the evidence runner as evidence of successful submission.

For further backing or explanation regarding the NIFTEE 2026 operation process, campaigners can pierce detailed information on the sanctioned website or communicate with the NTA helpdesk at 011-40759000. Authorities have prompted applicants to rely only on sanctioned sources for updates and avoid misinformation circulating on unofficial platforms.
