NIOS Announces Practical Exam Schedule For X, XII 2025

The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) has released the official practical exam dates for Class X and Class XII board exams for 2025. The secondary and senior secondary courses’ practical exams will start from March 17, 2025. The practical exams will be organized in various accredited institutions and practical examination centers. Both Indian and foreign students will be served by these centers.
The candidates appearing for these exams are required to report at their respective Accredited Institutions (AIs) and test centers as per the given dates. The NIOS has given the candidates a chance to view their admit cards for the practical exams from the official website. The admit cards for the practical exams will go online prior to the beginning of the practical exams, and the students can download the same in advance in order to have an easy examination process.
The practical examinations of Class X students will start on March 17 and continue up to April 1, 2025, with various subjects being held on different dates. From March 17 to March 20, 2025, students will be examined in subjects such as Home Science, Biology, Geography, Painting, Computer Science, Mass Communication, and Early Childhood Care and Education. The upcoming time from March 21 to March 24 will have examinations in Chemistry, Physics, Environmental Science, Physical Education and Yoga, Data Entry Operations, Library and Information Science, and Natyakala.
Practical exams for the next phase of March 25 to March 28 will have topics like Housekeeping, Catering Management, Food Processing, Hotel Front Office Operations, Preservation of Fruits and Vegetables, and Web Designing & Development. Finally, from 29th March to 1st April, the students will be examined in subjects such as Computer and Office Applications, Data Entry Operations, Web Development, IT Essentials (PC Hardware and Software), CRM Domestic Voice, Computer Hardware Assembly & Maintenance, and Yog Assistant.
Apart from Class X practical exams, NIOS has also come out with the schedule of Class XII practical exams, which will be identical in pattern. The Class XII examinations will commence from March 17, 2025, while practicals of Science & Technology, Home Science, Carnatic Sangeet, and Folk Art have been planned between March 17 to March 20. Students will appear for practical exams in Painting, Maths, Hindustani Music, Data Entry Operations, and Natyakala from March 21 to March 24.
The practical tests from March 25 to March 28 include topics like Cutting & Tailoring, Dress Making, Beauty Culture & Hair Care, Certificate in Indian Embroidery, and Beauty Therapy. Lastly, the final stage from March 29 to April 1 will feature practical tests on topics like Hair Care and Styling, Hand & Foot Care, Bakery & Confectionery, Certificate in Basic Computing, Certificate in Desktop Publishing (CDTP), Certificate in Yoga, and Indian Sign Language.
The NIOS has stressed adhering to the prescribed dates and reporting to the examination centers in time to avoid confusion or delay. All the candidates are advised to carry their admit cards along to the exam centers, as it will be the main identification for entry into the examination halls. The admit card, downloadable from the NIOS website, includes important information like the candidate’s name, roll number, examination center information, and timings of the exam.
Candidates are requested to keep a regular check on the official NIOS website for any new developments or changes in the practical exam schedule.
