NTA Urges JEE Candidates To Upload Correct Photographs

Share

A clarion advisory has been issued by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for the candidates who will be appearing in the Joint Entrance Examination, JEE Main 2025 Session-1. According to this notification, discrepancies have been found in the photographs uploaded by a number of candidates from their scanned version during the application. To mitigate this, the NTA is providing an opportunity for affected candidates to re-upload their scanned photographs in accordance with the required specifications. This needs to be done before 17th January 2025, at 11:50 pm today.

This move by the NTA emphasizes that in order not to have their applications rejected, all applicants should submit photographs as stipulated. Applicants are advised to login to their own accounts with the help of the credentials provided to them and open the link, which they are supposed to use to upload their photographs.

As mentioned in the official statement of the NTA, “It has been observed that the Photograph uploaded by few candidates for Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main)-2025 (Session-1) has not been found as per the required specifications. It has been decided to give an opportunity to such candidates to upload the Photograph as per required specifications to avoid rejection of application.”. All such candidates whose photographs are to be changed will be communicated through message on registered email ID and SMS on mobile number.

To avoid confusion and be in compliance, the NTA has given full instructions on how the photograph specifications should be provided. The color passport-sized photograph must be sized between 10 KB and 300 KB in size. The candidate’s face should be clearly seen in the photograph, with the face showing to the extent of 80%. The photograph is not to include a mask but must have clearly visible ears with a plain white background. JPG or JPEG should be the file type, and it should be filed under the name “Photograph”.

It must be noted that photographs taken with Polaroid or computer-generated images will not be acceptable as they do not fulfill the authenticity criteria laid down by the NTA. Spectacles are allowed in the photograph provided they are normally used by the candidate. The candidates are especially advised to refrain from uploading tampered or edited pictures. Any application containing manipulated or non-compliant photographs will be rejected and may also be treated as an attempt to use unfair means in the process of examination.

Before proceeding with the process, candidates are also advised to prepare six to eight passport-size photographs with the same specifications. Since photograph attestation is not required in this case, having copies ensures consistency when the subsequent stages of examination- admit card verification for instance, or later during the actual examination-will require them.

The NTA’s notification serves as a critical reminder of the importance of adhering to application requirements. A clear, legible photograph is essential for the proper identification of candidates, and non-compliance could lead to the cancellation of applications, leaving aspirants unable to appear for one of the most competitive entrance examinations in the country.

Another key aspect of using the NTA is the uploading of photographs-the opportunity to upload photographs with wrong details or perhaps errors in terms of uploading details illustrates the commitment NTA has given to ensuring no deserving candidate shall be disqualified merely due to the nature of technical mistakes or minor omissions. End.

As the deadline approaches for January 17, 2025, applicants are requested to check their registered email IDs and SMS notifications regarding any communication from the NTA in case of discrepancies in their uploaded photographs. The notification emphasizes vigilance while applying and stresses the importance of verifying all the details submitted at the time of application to avoid last-minute hurdles.

Thereby, the NTA is further providing the opportunity to make corrections. The NTA aims at refining the application process of JEE Main 2025 Session-1 while maintaining the overall integrity and fairness of the system. Now that the application process is about to close, this advisory serves as a final call for candidates to verify their applications for this purpose, which would hopefully allow them to avoid a failure in the examination.
