The vacancies include 6,144 Multi-Tasking Staff that are non-technical; the remaining 3,439 are for Havaldars. The exam consists entirely of objective-type and multiple choice questions. It had provision for negative marking in its second session; one mark shall be deducted for each such wrong answer marked by a candidate.

Expected Cut-Offs

The expected cut-off scores for SSC MTS Tier 1 Exam will vary according to the candidate’s category and age group, which is either 18–25 years or 18–27 years. For the unreserved category, the cut-off score is expected to be in the range of 140–155 marks for the age group of 18–25 years and 133–140 marks for the age group of 18–27 years. As a parallel, cut-off for Scheduled Castes will be between 126-136 and 130-140 marks. For all other categories of the groups that are categorized, as well, include Scheduled Tribes, OBC, EWS, and Ex-servicemen, there will be variations in the cut-off score but with equity in selection on the side of SSC.

The cut-off marks are determined by various factors, such as the total number of candidates appearing for the exam, the number of vacancies available, the difficulty level of the questions, and the maximum marks achieved by candidates.
