Greater Noida: Birla Institute of Management Technology has launched a new series of Faculty Development Programmes (FDPs) focused on finance research, generative artificial intelligence and technology-driven human resource management.

The online programmes are aimed at faculty members, researchers, doctoral scholars and industry professionals looking to build research and academic capabilities in emerging technology-led domains.

According to the institute, the initiative comes at a time when higher education and workplaces are rapidly changing due to digital transformation and AI-led innovation.

The first programme, “Qualitative and Quantitative Research Methods in Finance”, was held from May 1 to 3. The 15-hour FDP focused on publication-oriented finance research and covered areas including qualitative research design, thematic analysis, Event Study Methodology, text analysis of corporate disclosures and advanced time-series modelling techniques such as ARIMA and ARCH/GARCH frameworks.

The programme also included sessions on publishing research papers in leading finance journals and the ethical use of artificial intelligence in academic research.

BIMTECH is also conducting another FDP titled “Rethinking HR in the Age of Technology” from May 4 to 8. The programme examines how technology is reshaping HR practices, workforce management and organisational capability building.

The institute will further organise a two-day FDP on “Data, Decision Intelligence, and Learning in the Generative AI Paradigm” on May 16 and 17. The programme will introduce participants to Large Language Models (LLMs), prompt engineering, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), AI agents, natural language processing and AI-powered analytics tools.

Hands-on sessions using platforms such as Claude, Replit and Gamma are also part of the programme.

Prabina Rajib said the institute aims to create a platform for interdisciplinary learning, applied research and academic-industry collaboration through these programmes.

Founded with the support of the Birla family, BIMTECH offers management programmes across areas including international business, insurance business management and retail management, along with doctoral and online programmes.
