The National Testing Agency (NTA) is scheduled to shut the window for objections against the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2025 Session 2 Paper 2 May 16, 2025. Candidates who have given the BArch (Bachelor of Architecture) and BPlanning (Bachelor of Planning) exam under Paper 2 are requested to act quickly, as they will not accept any further objections after the deadline of 11:50 PM on the specified date.
According to the official announcement published by NTA, those students who are interested in objecting against the provisional answer key can do so via the official website of JEE Main — jeemain.nta.nic.in. Answer key, recorded responses, and question papers are already available on the portal. Candidates should make sure they scrutinize their answers and answer key thoroughly before any challenge.
For initiating the objection process, candidates need to pay a non-refundable processing charge of ₹200 per question. It can be done online through debit cards, credit cards, or net banking only. No other payment would be accepted. It should be noted that no objection would be valid in the absence of the processing fee. NTA has also made it explicit that no objection filed without the due fee or past the deadline will be heard on any account.
The NTA has also made it clear that after a candidate files a challenge with valid reason and supporting documents, the objections would be examined through a panel of subject matter experts. If any of the objections raised prove to be valid after careful examination, the provisional answer key will be modified accordingly. The revised answer key shall finally be used uniformly on the responses of all candidates so that a fair and transparent evaluation process can be assured.
However, the candidates should be informed that the NTA will not intimate the individuals individually regarding the acceptance or rejection of their challenges. The updated answer key will be considered final and will be employed for the preparation of the final results. The process demonstrates NTA’s diligence in ensuring transparency while also being logistically practical in dealing with a large number of exam data.
JEE Main is among the most important country-level entrance tests for engineering and architecture aspirants in India. This year, the Session 2 exam of Paper 1 (BE/BTech) was taken by NTA on April 2, 3, 4, 7, and 8. The test of Paper 2, that includes BArch and BPlanning, was held on April 9. Paper 1 results have already been declared on April 19, and now applicants are waiting keenly for the declaration of results for Paper 2, which would be published once the final answer key has come out.
Objection window is an important chance for candidates to correct any differences they might have faced in the answer key. The examination, being highly competitive in nature and deciding admission to elite institutions like National Institutes of Technology (NITs) and other centrally funded technical institutions, can make a huge difference with even a single mark in a candidate’s rank and future academic journey.
Students are thus recommended to thoroughly cross-check their marked answers with the provisional answer key and raise objections only if they are sure of any discrepancy. The candidates must also make sure that they upload authentic supporting documents in order to reinforce their objection.
The whole process is aimed at empowering the students to make sure their results are accurate along with having a standard and streamlined evaluation system. For those who require extra support or explanation, the NTA has provided a helpline for 011-40759000.
In summary, with the May 16 deadline so near, candidates are advised against waiting for the eleventh hour to check and submit their objections. The process of challenging the JEE Main 2025 Paper 2 answer key is a crucial step towards ensuring transparency and accuracy in the assessment system, and action taken in time will ensure that candidates do not lose out on the opportunity to get their issues resolved.
