Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) has announced the beginning of its online admission process for the academic session 2025-26. The university provides more than 40,000 seats in undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD programs in 106 affiliated colleges and 18 university schools. The admission process will start on February 1, 2025.

Several new academic offerings were announced along with MSc in Molecular Diagnostics, MSc in Microbiology, Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT), three-year LLB program, postgraduate program in Applied Geoinformatics, and PG Diploma in Radiological Physics.

The university, keeping in mind the growing demand from the academicians’ front, had provided around 250 additional seats this year. Earlier, around 1600 seats were introduced last year, with the advent of these courses and seat enhancements going hand-in-hand with the mission of GGSIPU towards providing greater variety in students’ education.

The university will conduct 52 CETs from April 26 to May 18, 2025. As for the online counseling sessions for MBA through the CAT, and for LLB and LLM through CLAT UG/PG, will begin from May 1. For some of these programs, it will be admissions on the merits of qualifications to be attained.

The institution also made landmark steps by saving for single girl children one seat from each programme taken in universities run schools, not forgetting reservation within 2 per cent to specifically allocated into specified programmes and with the Sports quota.

Undergraduate students will have the opportunity to gain admission to 20 undergraduate and 18 postgraduate programs vacant seats. A one-time application fee of Rs 2500 will be paid, which covers registration and participation in counseling charges.

The Vice-Chancellor also revealed plans to open an offshore campus in Gyana, a move that will boost the university’s global outreach. The Economically Weaker Section (EWS) scholarship fund ceiling has been increased from Rs 2.5 crore to Rs 3.5 crore, further adding to the scholarship kitty for meritorious students.

The university has also revamped its admission criteria for several programs. Notable changes include the introduction of interviews and merit-based selection for the Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing program, which previously relied solely on CET. The dual-degree B.Sc.-MSc programs in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics will now consider CET and merit in qualifying examinations instead of just JEE Main and CUET.

In postgraduate programs, scores of GATE, UGC-NET, and CSIR-NET have been added for MS Packaging Technology, which earlier used to consider only CET and CUET. BS Packaging Technology will now accept JEE Advanced, JEE Mains, and NEET scores along with CET and CUET. Merit in qualifying examinations has been added as a criterion for admissions to M.Tech. programs in Food Processing Technology and Biotechnology. CET has been added as a criterion for admissions to B.Sc. Environmental Science and MSc Environmental Management.

Admission processes and new courses are a reflection of GGSIPU’s continued pursuit of academic excellence and its efforts to respond to the changing educational needs of students. The strategic changes in admission criteria at the university aim to make the selection process more inclusive and competitive, thereby attracting diverse talent from across the country and beyond.
