In a recent directive, the Directorate of Education in Delhi has mandated that recognised private schools with government-allotted land must seek approval before implementing fee increases for the upcoming 2024-25 academic session, reported ANI.

According to the official order, these schools are required to adhere to the last approved fee structure or file fees based on their previously submitted fee statement, as per ANI report.

The order, citing Section 17 of the Delhi School Education Act and Rules (DSEAR), 1973, explicitly prohibits private unaided schools from enhancing fees without prior sanction from the Director of Education.

It further directs all Head of Schools/Managers of private recognized Unaided Schools, allotted land by government agencies, to submit their proposals for fee increases for the academic session 2024-25 online via the Directorate’s website from 01.04.2024. The deadline for uploading the necessary returns and documents is set for 15.04.2024. The directive emphasizes that any incomplete proposals will be promptly rejected.
