JobsUPI, a multilingual, multimodal employment platform designed to make job discovery fast and accessible, has announced the successful closure of its pre-seed round of USD 250,000. The round includes support from IIMA Ventures, along with prominent angel investors such as Alok Bansal (Co-founder, PolicyBazaar), Anshoo Sharma (Founder, Magicpin), Amit Jain (Chief People Officer, Taggd), and Manoj Sinsinwar (Co-founder, Hecttor.ai), among others.
The platform is currently live, with an initial focus on North India, and plans to expand to additional regions in the coming months.
JobsUPI is building a “quick commerce for jobs” model with the goal of enabling hiring in as little as 30 minutes by making job discovery, matching, and application seamless. Built on an open network architecture, the platform is designed to improve access to employment opportunities for blue-collar and skilled workers across Bharat.
The funding will be used to strengthen product capabilities, scale distribution, and expand into new geographies. JobsUPI serves two core user groups:
Job seekers: blue-collar and skilled workers, including ITI graduates, experienced tradespeople, and freshers
Employers: small businesses, factories, contractors, shops, and households looking to hire quickly and affordably
JobsUPI aims to become a foundational layer for employment infrastructure in Bharat, driven by the belief that access to livelihoods should be as seamless as access to commerce. Over the long term, the company envisions unlocking 100 million jobs by enabling 10 million MSMEs and enterprises to hire more efficiently.
The platform is being developed on top of the Blue Dots initiative. It is an open network effort backed by Nandan Nilekani and Shankar Maruwada, designed to enable interoperability and ecosystem-wide scale.
“Our vision at JobsUPI is to make access to livelihoods as seamless as ordering a product online. For millions of workers in Bharat, the biggest barrier is access. By leveraging Voice AI, we reduce the need for literacy and digital familiarity, and move towards making job discovery more immediate, local, and accessible.” said Shrey Bansal, Founder & CEO, and Shubham Periwal, Co-founder & CPO of JobsUPI.
This round brings together operators and ecosystem builders with deep experience across fintech, consumer internet, HR tech, and AI, reflecting strong conviction in JobsUPI’s approach to addressing one of India’s most persistent structural challenges, that is bridging the gap between job demand and supply in the informal and semi-formal workforce.
