Codingal Expands Platform With Math, Public Speaking

Share

Codingal, a Y Combinator-backed learning platform for school-age children, has expanded its curriculum to include Math and Public Speaking alongside its Coding and AI programmes. The expansion builds on the continued growth in the platform’s live coding and AI classes and follows requests from parents seeking the same instructor-led format across additional subjects.

Founded by Vivek Prakash and Satyam Baranwal , Codingal began as a coding platform before adding AI to its curriculum. With the addition of Math and Public Speaking, the platform now brings together AI and Coding, Math, and Public Speaking within its live learning model.

Math and Public Speaking have been added as complementary learning areas, giving students opportunities to strengthen reasoning, problem-solving and communication alongside their coding and AI skills.

The new Math for kids programme focuses on conceptual understanding and problem-solving, while the Public Speaking for kids programme is designed to help students organise their thoughts, construct arguments and communicate ideas clearly. Both subjects follow the same live, instructor-led format as Codingal’s coding and AI classes, with instruction in small groups. The Math programme emphasises reasoning over rote practice, while the Public Speaking programme builds skills through structured practice such as storytelling, debate and presentation.

The expansion comes as schools and families place greater emphasis on skills that extend beyond examination performance. As technology becomes more closely integrated into education and work, students are increasingly expected to combine subject knowledge with the ability to reason, solve problems and communicate clearly.

“Teaching children coding and AI comes with a responsibility to prepare them for how they will learn, think and work in the years ahead. We have seen how these subjects can help children approach problems critically and creatively, and expanding into Math and Public Speaking is a natural next step. Together, these subjects can help students strengthen how they reason, solve problems and communicate their ideas,” said Vivek Prakash, Co-founder and CEO, Codingal .

“Coding, along with AI, equips kids with the skills to think critically and creatively, empowering them at multiple levels. Math and Public Speaking are the natural companions to that journey,” said Satyam Baranwal, Co-founder and COO, Codingal .

Codingal says its learner base now spans 135 countries and over 2,000 cities globally. The company reports more than 15,000 monthly active learners and says it has crossed one million registered students since launch. According to figures shared by the company, its educators conducted 822,228 live classes in 2025, amounting to 75.8 million minutes of instruction.

Across its programmes, Codingal says instructors are selected through a multi-stage process comprising a proctored subject knowledge test, a language readiness assessment, an interview and a background check. The company says women account for nine in ten teachers on its platform and that it paid INR 17 crore to educators in 2025.

New students begin with a free trial lesson, followed by a one-on-one session with an academic counsellor. A personalised learning plan is then developed based on the child’s aptitude, interests and schedule.
