Share

Recently, the All India Council for Technical Education unveiled the fourth phase of the National Educational Alliance for Technology, also known as NEAT 4.0. It is a transformational initiative aimed at bridging the gap between learners and industry-relevant skills. NEAT 4.0 has been launched with an accessibility and inclusivity focus and aims to empower students across India with the tools and resources required to thrive in this changing educational and professional landscape.

It has become a landmark of the education sector in India because it offers an integrated platform using advanced technological solutions to enhance the learning outcomes. The portal will provide personalized learning experiences for each student by using AI. This way, it will ensure better academic and professional outputs, where students will be adequately equipped with the theoretical knowledge along with its applications.

The launch of NEAT 4.0 was marked by the signing of Memoranda of Understanding with 22 EdTech companies and AICTE, which in turn led to the introduction of 40 innovative products on the NEAT portal. These solutions were evaluated stringently through a four-stage evaluation process, encompassing more than 300 assessments by domain experts. This made sure that high-quality solutions only were onboarded, in sync with the portal’s vision to deliver excellence in education.

Chair AICTE professor TG Sitharam said that he was very delighted to be attending an institution like this on the NEAT 4.0 initiative where, according to him, one could see more hope for renewed changes in Indian education. When asked about NEAT 4.0 having dynamic on-boarding processes as well as appraisal every two months, he observed that it speeds up the use of innovative and latest solutions much faster.

Adding to this, Prof Anil D Sahasrabudhe, chairman of the National Educational Technology Forum (NETF), emphasized the transformative potential of NEAT 4.0 in revolutionizing online education in India. He noted that the initiative focuses on equipping learners with industry-oriented skills, thereby enhancing their employability. This aligns with the broader goal of creating a workforce that is ready to meet the demands of a dynamic global economy.

Dr Buddha Chandrasekhar, Chief Coordinating Officer (CCO) of AICTE, said the initiative is all-inclusive, especially in its Public-Private Partnership model. He said NEAT 4.0 aims to make the most advanced EdTech solutions available to students from economically weaker sections of society. It will enable students from all strata of society to access high-quality education and skill development resources.

NEAT 4.0 also distinguishes itself by incorporating emerging domains such as Biomedical Engineering, Health and Wellness, and Space Technology. This versatility reflects the portal’s commitment to addressing diverse educational needs and preparing students for careers in innovative and high-demand fields. The inclusion of these domains underscores the initiative’s forward-thinking approach and its alignment with India’s ambitions in science, technology, and healthcare.

The organisations that have signed MoUs with AICTE for this phase include Amypo Technologies Private Limited, Ansys Software, Culturelligence Private Limited, Dheya Career Mentors India Pvt Ltd, Edz One International Private Limited, Elite E2 Private Limited, Filo Edtech Pvt Ltd, Flairx Networks LLP, Framewirk Internet (Opc) Private Limited, Futureminds, Health Education Bureau, Indo-Euro Synchronization Private Limited, Infotrack Library Solutions, Intellipaat Software Solutions Private Limited, Intercell Technologies Private Limited, New Edtech Skills Pvt Ltd, Metis Eduventures Private Limited, Protrainy Skilled Learning Private Limited, Skilldzire, The Art of Living, Turnip Innovations Private Limited, and Wealth Vidya Services Private Limited. These partnerships represent the collaborative efforts of AICTE and the EdTech sector to build a robust and inclusive educational ecosystem.

NEAT 4.0 is a significant step forward in addressing accessibility, inclusivity, and employability challenges in India’s education system. It integrates AI-powered personalized learning and fosters collaborations with industry leaders to empower learners and position India as a global leader in education technology.
