CBSE has released an important notice for students with disabilities studying under the umbrella of Children with Special Needs (CwSN) who are to appear for Class X and XII board exams in 2025. It describes how the board is set to provide facilities and exemptions so that the students could experience the board exams on a more equal and inclusive scale.

In its official statement, CBSE said that CwSN students can seek examination facilities and exemptions through their respective schools by using the web portal. Schools will have to log in to the Pariksha Sangam portal using their login credentials. In the CwSN portal, schools will be able to view a list of their CwSN students as submitted in the LOC data. The portal will also be showing permissible facilities and exemptions for each category of disability. If any student is desirous of availing himself of these facilities, then the school has to exercise its options so that such details are included in the admit card of the concerned student. This will provide enough time to the examination centre for making necessary arrangements ahead so that the examination would take place smoothly for students of CwSN.

CBSE has clarified that all this must be done by the school with great care and by the deadline. The portal for uploading requests as well as other documents would be open from December 18, 2024, till December 28, 2024. Schools have been advised to upload all the requests during this time only because no more requests shall be accepted after the said date. In addition, all offline requests, if made directly to CBSE for exemptions, will also have to be uploaded during the scheduled time on the portal.

The notification also cleared that no requests will be entertained at any cost even if they are submitted later than the deadline or made through offline modes. It has also appealed to the schools that they must read the attached manual with the notification, which would be followed precisely for completing the process error-free. The board has reiterated that the schedule would not be extended and thus demanded immediate action from the school.

The initiative aims to make the process of granting examination facilities to the CwSN students simpler and ensures that no candidate faces inconvenience during the examinations. This will ensure that the needs of CwSN students are properly integrated into the admit card, making examination centers well-prepared in advance to accommodate their specific requirements, thereby promoting inclusiveness and fairness in the process of examinations.

This reminder notification is given to schools and parents of CwSN students so that together, they submit requests within the timeline. It signifies the board’s commitment toward creating an enabling environment for all students and recognizing the needs of the CwSN candidates while providing them with support so that they may perform at their best in the 2025 board examinations.
