The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced an interesting initiative that will bring students, teachers, and parents closer to the process of addressing exam-related challenges. This initiative forms part of the annual Pariksha Pe Charcha programme, which has initiated an online multiple-choice question (MCQ) competition. The competition will take place from 14th December 2024 through 14th January 2025. The competition allows for the first-hand contribution to the eighth Pariksha Pe Charcha, which is to be held in January 2025 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.
The official website of CBSE and the portal innovateindia1.mygov.in have made this competition open to students of classes 6 to 12 and for teachers and parents. The highlight of this event will be the chance for participants to frame questions that would have been answered directly by the Prime Minister during the interaction. Relevant and creative questions chosen from a large number of submissions will feature in the main event, giving participants a meaningful opportunity to contribute to a national dialogue on examination stress and success strategies.
An initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Pariksha Pe Charcha, has turned into a landmark event for the Indian academic calendar. This aims at mitigating the examination-induced stress and inspiring the student fraternity, teachers, and parents to approach the exam time with positivity and determination. Over the years, it has emerged as a platform to discuss real-life challenges and aspirations in a motivating atmosphere.
In order to make this program a success, CBSE has encouraged all the schools in the country to make active participation calls. It has asked schools to engage themselves with innovative techniques to increase maximum awareness and participation. These suggestions are to use social media, put up banners and posters on school premises, and encourage students to get registered and participate. The board is enthusiastic about making this initiative a collaborative effort and focusing more on innovation and outreach.
Participation in the competition is also an opportunity to let everyone express their thoughts and sayings, besides getting an interface with the Prime Minister of India. Participants whose questions are shortlisted over the years in the edition of Pariksha Pe Charcha have even been featured by the media as well and appreciated for what they said. The case is expected to be repeated in this year as well.
The eighth edition of Pariksha Pe Charcha is likely to further develop on the success of its predecessors by addressing the emotional and psychological aspects of exams while providing practical solutions and motivational insights through the Prime Minister. This would include students, teachers, and parents directly participating in the conversation, creating an atmosphere of inclusion and community. It helps participants overcome exam-related stress but also motivates them to achieve more with confidence and overcome any hurdles.
CBSE has also identified the importance of the event as an opportunity to generate awareness regarding stress management during examination. It is through these interactions with the program that participants can learn proper techniques of stress management as well as understand how their lives are affected by those pressures in academics. The participative nature of the conference, coupled with the presence of the Prime Minister, was a very good learning experience derived from the experiences and views in the entire country.
As the competition unfolds, schools, parents, and teachers are expected to play a crucial role in making it truly widespread. The initiative is not about winning or getting questions featured; it’s about creating a dialogue that resonates with millions and creates a positive and constructive atmosphere around exams.
With the deadline for the competition set for January 14, 2025, interested participants are encouraged to register and submit their questions promptly. The event promises to be a memorable occasion, where ideas are shared, challenges are addressed, and aspirations are ignited, reinforcing the collective resolve to build a brighter and more resilient future.
