The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) has issued a notice stating that the first allotment list for CLAT counselling 2025 will be released on December 26, 2024. The registration process for the counselling concluded on December 20, 2024. Once the allotment list is published, candidates who have registered successfully for counselling can access it on the official website of the Consortium.
Candidates who are allocated seats in the first allotment list will have to take further action in order to confirm their admissions. They can opt for the “freeze” or “float” options and deposit the confirmation fee to the Consortium of NLUs. The admission process for the National Law Universities will continue from December 26, 2024, to January 4, 2025, for candidates opting for the freeze or float options.
They can check their allotment list at the official website of Consortium of NLUs, by cross verification. There will be a direct link to the first allotment list of CLAT counselling 2025, on the homepage of their portal. The candidates can look up their seat allocation once they enter the relevant particulars and download it.
The counselling process is done in multiple rounds. Subsequent allotment lists will be published on January 10, 2025, for the second list; January 24, 2025, for the third list; May 20, 2025, for the fourth list; and May 29, 2025, for the fifth and final list. The fifth round of counselling will begin directly after the publication of the final list.
For those students who have frozen for the fourth and fifth round of counseling, they are required to pay the fee in the university after deducting the confirmation and counseling registration fee. The payment is to be done by June 10, 2025 in order to take admission in the respective NLU.
CLAT 2024 Examination conducted earlier this year was a two hour test having 120 multiple choice questions with one mark per question with a penalty of 0.25 marks for an incorrect answer. The outcome of this examination declared the eligibility as well as ranking of all those candidates who are to be considered in the subsequent counselling process to obtain admission to different NLUs in India.
Multi-round counseling gives the best chances for obtaining seats in the preferred NLUs and, at the same time, ensures transparency with an uninterrupted admission process. With all updates on the official website, students will get proper updates and ensure timely completion of required processes. The smooth working schedule and guidelines issued by the Consortium help simplify the whole process and afford suitable opportunities to aspirants who aim to become law students of the most prestigious institutions.
