Continuing its tradition of offering dedicated support to admission seekers, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU), Delhi, is all set to organize an Admission Guidance Session on May 31 at its Dwarka campus. This annual initiative is designed to address the questions and concerns of applicants and aspiring students regarding the admission and counseling process at the university.
As one of the capital’s premier educational institutions, IP University hosts a diverse range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs. The guidance session aims to serve as a one-stop platform for clarifying all doubts related to the admission process. According to Prof. Udayan Ghose, Director of Admissions at the university, this session will be particularly beneficial for those who have appeared in the university’s Common Entrance Tests (CET), as well as for candidates applying through national-level tests and CUET.
The university follows a comprehensive admission policy that includes both entrance-based and merit-based intakes, depending on the course. While several programs admit students through entrance tests conducted by the university, others rely on national-level examinations or qualifying exam scores. The counseling process — which may be conducted either online or offline — plays a crucial role in this selection.
“Admissions in IP University are carried out through multiple channels. Some programs are offered based on CET conducted by the university, whereas others depend on results from national-level exams like CUET and other recognized entrance tests. For certain courses, merit in the qualifying examination is the deciding factor,” Prof. Ghose said. He also informed that the counseling process has already commenced for several programs and will begin soon for the remaining ones. Given the wide range of programs and entry mechanisms, the university believes that direct interaction is the best way to clear the confusion of applicants and their families.
In recent years, a growing number of students appearing for CUET and other national entrance tests have shown interest in IP University. The face-to-face format of the session is expected to be particularly helpful in bridging the gap between the admission team and the aspirants. Prof. Ghose emphasized that the university is keen on ensuring that no student is left confused or misinformed during this crucial stage. “Our aim is to address all queries directly. The entire admissions team will be available to guide students and their parents,” he said.
The event will not only provide clarity on the counseling procedures but also help students understand course requirements, eligibility criteria, important deadlines, and the documentation process. Officials from various departments will also be present to provide detailed insights about specific courses, helping candidates make well-informed choices.
For those who may not be able to attend the session on May 31, Prof. Ghose mentioned that the university is open to conducting more such guidance sessions in the coming days, based on demand. “This is not a one-time interaction. If needed, we will schedule more sessions so that every aspirant has access to accurate and timely information,” he added.
The university has also provided comprehensive details about the session, including the venue, timings, and guidelines, on its official websites — www.ipu.ac.in and www.ipu.admissions.nic.in. Interested candidates are advised to regularly check these platforms for updates and instructions.
IP University’s commitment to supporting its applicants through transparent communication and effective guidance underscores its student-centric approach. With the academic session fast approaching, the guidance session on May 31 is a timely initiative that is expected to help thousands of students navigate the admission process with confidence.
The Public Relations Office of IP University, headed by Nalini Ranjan, is actively involved in ensuring that all relevant information is disseminated efficiently. The university continues to uphold its reputation as a forward-thinking institution by prioritizing open dialogue and accessibility during the admissions season.
