JoSSA 2025 Round 1 Seat Allotment On June 14

Share

The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) has officially concluded the registration and choice-filling process for admissions into India’s premier engineering institutions through JEE Main and JEE Advanced 2025. The online registration window, which allowed candidates to select and prioritise their preferred academic programmes and institutions, closed on June 12. As per the official schedule, the data reconciliation, verification, and validation process by JoSAA is being conducted on June 13. Following this, the Round 1 seat allocation result will be declared on June 14, 2025, at 10:00 AM.

The JoSAA counselling process serves as a gateway for eligible candidates to secure admission to a total of 127 technical institutions across India. These include 23 prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), 31 National Institutes of Technology (NITs), the Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology (IIEST) Shibpur, 26 Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), and 46 Government Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs). The counselling procedure comprises six rounds of seat allocation, strategically designed to fill available seats in these institutions in a phased and systematic manner.

The final round of counselling for the IITs will be announced on July 16, 2025. The overall JoSAA counselling process, however, will conclude with the sixth and last round, scheduled to end on July 22. During this time, candidates who have been allotted a seat must complete the necessary formalities such as online reporting, fee payment, and document upload. The online reporting window for Round 1 begins on June 14 and will remain open until June 18, 2025. The last date for paying the seat acceptance fee is also June 18.

In case candidates encounter any issues while making their seat acceptance fee payments, JoSAA has designated June 19 as the deadline for resolving such payment-related queries, provided the initial payment attempt was made within the stipulated timeframe. Furthermore, the final date for responding to any queries raised by the authorities is June 20, 2025. This ensures that all applicants are given ample opportunity to clarify any discrepancies or technical difficulties faced during the process.

One of the crucial aspects of the JoSAA counselling process is the locking of choices. During the registration window, candidates were required to fill and arrange their preferences for academic programmes and institutions. If a candidate failed to manually lock their choices by the deadline, the system automatically locked their last saved preferences. After the locking deadline, no modifications are allowed unless a candidate specifically requests it. In such cases, changes are permitted only after successful OTP-based authentication, which is done through the registered mobile number and email ID.

To assist students in understanding the likely outcomes of their choices, JoSAA had earlier released two mock seat allocations during the registration period. These mock rounds provided candidates with a preview of possible seat allotments based on their current choices, allowing them to reconsider and rearrange their preferences accordingly before final submission.

The subsequent rounds of seat allocation are also well scheduled. Round 2 results will be declared on June 21 at 5 PM, followed by Round 3 on June 28 at 5 PM. Round 4 results will be announced on July 4, while Round 5 results will be published on July 10. The final round specifically for IITs will be declared on July 16. All seat allocation rounds are expected to be released at 5 PM, except Round 1, which will be published earlier in the day at 10 AM.

Additionally, candidates who have accepted a seat but later decide not to continue have the option to withdraw from the counselling process. This withdrawal option remains open until the conclusion of the seat acceptance window of Round 5. This gives students flexibility in making final decisions about their admissions without facing penalties or being bound to a seat they do not wish to retain.

To log in and access their seat allocation results or complete admission formalities, JEE Main 2025 candidates need to use their application number and password. Meanwhile, foreign nationals and candidates holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) status, who did not appear for JEE Main but are eligible through JEE Advanced 2025, must log in using their direct registration credentials from the JEE Advanced portal.

As the Round 1 result day approaches, thousands of aspiring engineers across the country are eagerly awaiting their seat allotments. The JoSAA counselling process remains one of the most crucial stages for engineering aspirants, determining their entry into India’s leading technical institutions.
