NAVITAS 5.0 Showcases Legal Brilliance at MAIMS

5th Justice J S Verma Memorial ADR & Client Counselling Competition & NAVITAS – Law Fest 2025 , the prestigious law fest of Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Management Studies (MAIMS), marked yet another milestone in fostering legal intellect, advocacy skills, and professional excellence.
Over the course of NAVITAS 5.0, students participated in various competitions, including Moot Court, ADR & Client Counselling, Debating, and Legal Quiz, showcasing their legal acumen and advocacy skills.
Prof. (Dr.) Rajni Malhotra Dhingra, Director, MAIMS, delivered the Welcome Address, emphasizing the importance of NAVITAS as a premier legal fest that fosters the holistic development of law students.
Chief guest of the event Hon’ble Me. Justice Rajesh Bindal, Judge Supreme Court of India delivered an insightful speech, shedding light on pre-litigation applications in matrimonial cases and their 30-40% success rate in resolving disputes before reaching the courts. He emphasized that litigation is not the ultimate solution to all legal problems, stressing the need for more focus on ADR mechanisms. “Winning and losing is secondary. What truly matters is participation, learning, and performance. Competitions like these prepare you for the real challenges in the legal world.”
Founder Chairman Dr. Nand Kishore Garg inspired students by sharing the life and sacrifices of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, emphasizing the importance of courage, conviction, and moral integrity in both personal and professional life. “Character is the foundation of success. As legal professionals, your strength lies not just in knowledge but in the values and ethics that guide your practice.”
Guest of Hon’ble Mr. Justice Anup Jairam Bhambhani shared his personal experience of working with Justice J. S. Verma, expressing his regret at meeting him late in his career but acknowledging the immense knowledge and values he imbibed “A judge should have no past and no future. There should be no past that people can fault. Judgeship is not just a career—it is a responsibility that demands impartiality, fairness, and integrity.” He also highlighted the challenges of litigation, calling it a necessary evil that often does not lead to a peaceful resolution of disputes.
