NTA Releases NEET UG 2025 Guidelines: Exam On May 4

Share

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has finally declared the dates and detailed information regarding the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET-UG) 2025. The much-awaited medical entrance exam will be conducted on May 4, 2025. Candidates from all over the country will vie for admission into undergraduate MBBS, BDS, and AYUSH courses in different medical colleges. Additionally, the NEET UG score will also be necessary for candidates applying for admission to BSc Nursing courses under the Armed Forces Medical Services for the year 2025.

Flexibility in exam centre selection

One of the most notable changes this year is the increased flexibility in choosing exam centres. This year, three cities have been allowed as a preferred exam centre by the candidate, a move to ease the logistical hassle that the aspirant faces. The earlier limit was two.

The NTA has clarified that the application process will be completed only on the official website, neet.nta.nic.in. Candidates must make sure their applications are submitted on this mode, as any other method of applying is not accepted. Registration is open from February 7 to 7 March 2025 with a date for transaction fees set as 7 March 2025.

To successfully complete the application, applicants are required to upload essential documents such as a recent passport-sized photograph, address proof, and a scanned signature. The NTA has also appealed to the applicants to carefully read the information bulletin to avoid mistakes during the submission process. Importantly, only one application per candidate will be accepted.

A critical notice issued by NTA is for the accurate and correct contact information. Candidates will have to provide an email address and mobile number that belong either to them or their parents/guardians through which all their communications will take place. Violation of such instructions mentioned on the bulletin as well as at the official website will lead to instant disqualification.

The NEET UG 2025 examination will be conducted for three hours, from 2 PM to 5 PM (IST). The test will be provided in 13 languages: Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu, thus reaching a broad class of candidates.

The intimation of the city for which candidates wish to change the location of the examination center would be done on or before April 26, 2025. The admit cards for students will be available on or before May 1, 2025. In case of traveling for appearing at an examination center, it would allow enough time. Tentative results will be declared on June 14, 2025, after the exam is over.

The aspirants must take extra care about the schedule and strictly adhere to all deadlines so that no confusion arises. Counseling for seat allotment in all medical and dental colleges will probably start from July 2025.

Another significant announcement is related to the Military Nursing Service aspirants. Candidates aspiring for admission to the four-year BSc nursing courses conducted at Armed Forces Medical Service Hospitals need to qualify for NEET UG. It further cements the importance of the exam as a gateway for several medical and healthcare-related courses.

Student bodies and parents also expressed mixed reviews and reactions due to the increasing competitiveness of entrance exams for a medical seat across the country; thus, having ample preparation, with proper on-time instructions issued, is deemed necessary. After all, with its streamlined examination processes and ample guidelines, it’s one big test that really needs to prove smooth and rightful to all these aspiring candidates before NEET UG.

Students are encouraged to regularly check the official NTA website for updates and further instructions as the exam date approaches.
