The results of the Assam Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) 2025 have been formally announced by the Directorate of Secondary Education (DSE), Assam. The official website of the DSE, http://madhyamik.assam.gov.in, is where applicants who took the exam may now view their results. The highly anticipated news is a big update for the thousands of prospective instructors who took the recruitment exam earlier this year. 

With the aim of filling 9,717 teaching positions throughout the state, the Assam TET 2025 was held on January 19, 2025. The majority of these posts, 8,230 in all, were set aside for Graduate Teachers (GT) covering the disciplines of arts, science, Hindi, and Sanskrit, while 1,487 posts were set aside for Post Graduate Teachers (PGT). The test had two goals: to determine teacher eligibility and to identify qualified individuals for direct hiring. 

The DSE Assam website now allows candidates who took the exam to view their results. Candidates must input their application number and password on the result login page in order to view their individual scorecards. After successfully logging in, they may download and print their results for later use, particularly in the approaching recruiting procedures. 

A huge number of candidates competed for teaching positions in secondary schools throughout Assam at the TET 2025. The DSE ensured adherence to rigorous criteria for assessment and merit list preparation throughout the fair and open examination. For applicants in the general category, the minimum qualifying score was 60%. But in an effort to foster inclusion and equal opportunity, the minimum requirement for applicants in reserved categories, such as SC, ST, OBC, and others, was lowered to 55%. 

The merit list for the Assam TET cum Recruitment Test has been compiled using the marks earned by the candidates in the exam. Separate topic-specific merit lists have been created for Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) positions in order to guarantee transparency and subject-specific assessment. This method has facilitated a fairer and more precise evaluation of candidates’ teaching skills in their chosen fields. Additionally, the merit lists for the Graduate Teacher (GT) jobs reflect the grades earned by candidates in various subjects, ensuring that only the most qualified and eligible candidates advance through the recruiting process. 

The 1:1 shortlisting ratio is one of the most important aspects of the recruiting process. Candidates are therefore shortlisted in a number equal to the total number of openings for each subject and position. The DSE has highlighted that this approach guarantees that each advertised position has at least one qualified applicant, which streamlines the recruiting process and minimizes delays. The authorities have, however, planned to issue up to two additional merit lists in the event that some posts remain vacant due to a lack of qualified applicants. These additional lists will provide opportunities for other deserving applicants who may have just missed out in the first round. 

Candidates place a high value on the TET results because they are used to assess their eligibility and forecast their likelihood of landing a teaching position in the public sector. The competition was fierce this year due to the large number of vacancies, particularly in Graduate Teacher positions. The merit list represents the culmination of months of hard effort and commitment, with thousands of candidates taking the test from all over Assam. 

Additionally, the Directorate has advised all candidates to regularly check the DSE Assam website in order to remain current with official announcements. In due course, essential information about forthcoming rounds of document verification, therapy sessions, and final appointment processes will be released. Qualified candidates are encouraged to have all required documents, such as academic credentials, caste certificates (if applicable), and printed copies of the result, available for verification upon request.
