Share

According to various reports, National Testing Agency released the admit card for the newly scheduled University Grants Commission UGC National Eligibility Test UGC NET exams for the cycle of December 2024 exams. The entrance exams were first scheduled for 15 January, 2025, but considering other festivals like Pongal and Makar Sankranti falling on the exact dates, their dates have now been changed and will be taking place on the 21 and 27 January, 2025. Eligible candidates must download their hall tickets from ugcnet.nta.ac.in:.

The UGC NET is an important test that determines the eligibility of candidates for the posts of Assistant Professor and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in Indian universities and colleges. It is conducted in a Computer-Based Test (CBT) format, which ensures efficiency and uniformity in evaluation. This rescheduled test consists of two papers, both of which will feature objective-type, multiple-choice questions. Most importantly, the two sections will be held without a break in between. The question papers will be in English and Hindi except for language-specific subjects.

Steps to Download Admit Card

In order to access the admit card, a candidate needs to browse the official website and then click on the link “UGC NET Admit Card December 2024” available on the homepage. By entering their log in credentials such as application number and password, candidates can download their admit card after which they must scrutinize the details as provided including personal information, photograph, and examination venue.

The admit card is a must-have document for entry into the exam hall. Candidates are also required to carry a passport-sized photograph, which should be the same as the one uploaded during the application process, along with an original and valid photo identification card. The list of acceptable IDs includes Aadhaar card, PAN card, driving license, or passport. In addition, candidates with disabilities are required to present a PwD certificate issued by a competent authority.

Attention to Details on Admit Card

The NTA, however, added that candidates will ensure that every detail on the admit card is correct. One should make sure that the photo ID name aligns with that on the admit card to minimize the hassle faced during the time of verification. Furthermore, elements like the photograph, signature, barcode, and QR code on the admit card should appear clear and sharp. In case any discrepancies are found, candidates are advised to re-download the admit card or immediately contact the NTA helpline at 011-40759000 or email at [email protected] for assistance.

Exam Guidelines and Instructions

The UGC NET examination will be strictly held in CBT mode, and all candidates are expected to follow the instructions mentioned on their admit card. They should report to the test center much before the scheduled time to avoid last-minute hassles. Security checks will be carried out, and candidates must ensure they do not carry prohibited items into the examination hall.

The rescheduling of the exam has given candidates more time to prepare for this competitive test. The objective format of the exam ensures transparency and efficiency, and therefore, it is essential for candidates to be thorough with their preparation to achieve their academic and professional goals.

The UGC NET remains one of the most coveted exams in the country, which offers opportunities to qualify for JRF or to work as an Assistant Professor in esteemed academic institutions. So, candidates must remain vigilant, double-check all the details carefully, and prepare themselves to give their best performance in the forthcoming examination.
