The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has successfully held the Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) examination from September 30 to November 14, 2024. With this recruitment drive to fill 9,583 vacancies, thousands of aspirants are now waiting for the declaration of the expected cut-off marks. For any candidate, understanding these cut-offs is crucial as it tells them if they have any chance of proceeding to the next level of the selection process.
SSC MTS expected cut-off marks are determined by several key factors. The total number of vacancies, the difficulty level of the examination, the number of candidates who appeared, and trends from previous years’ cut-offs determine this. For 2024, the cut-off for the General (UR) category is expected to fall in the range of 140 to 150 marks. Likewise, the SC category is likely to experience a cut-off between 128 and 138 marks.
Further breaking up the cut-off estimates into the two age groups 18–25 years and 18–27 years, here are the results. In the 18–25 years age group, cut-offs for the UR category are expected between 140 and 150 marks and between 130 and 140 marks for OBC. The cut-offs of SC and ST are expected between 128–138 marks and 125–135 marks, respectively. For candidates belonging to the EWS category, the range is 140–150 marks, while ex-servicemen (ESM) may expect cut-offs between 102 and 112 marks.
The cut-off is around 135 to 145 marks for the UR category in the 18–27 years age group. The SC category may range from 130–140 marks, while that of ST is within the marks of 125–135. For OBC candidates, the marks might range between 135 to 145 marks, whereas for EWS candidates, there may be a range between 130 to 140 marks. For ex-servicemen, there is an estimation of being between 100 and 110 marks.
The SSC official cut-off marks can be found at the website of SSC at ssc.gov.in. To do this, the candidate will first log on to the homepage. From the homepage, navigate to the “SSC MTS Havaldar Cut-Off Marks” link, log in by entering registration details, and the cut-off marks based on category will be visible that can be downloaded for further reference.
These are estimations, which the candidate must note and may have to change; but meanwhile, the cut-off marks are to be awaited as the SSC would issue its official cut-off marks soon. Candidates must refer to the website time to time for updates on their queries.
The much publicized recruitment drive this year has attracted much attention owing to the high number of vacancies and the competitive nature of the examination. Expected cut-offs are, thus, a benchmark, clarifying the performance of each candidate vis-à-vis his peers. For most, the journey to attaining an SSC MTS position is dependent on such cut-offs, making this day the most crucial day of the recruitment process.
