VESCOA Welcomes Architect Urmila Rajadhyaksha as Department Head of Architecture – Landscape Architecture

Vivekanand Education Society’s College of Architecture (VESCOA) is proud to announce the appointment of Urmila Rajadhyaksha as the Head of the Department of Architecture – Landscape Architecture. With over 30 years of experience as a landscape architect and educator, Rajadhyaksha is widely respected for her dedication to sustainability and innovative design solutions.

In addition to her new role, Rajadhyaksha currently serves as the Honorary President of the Indian Society of Landscape Architects (ISOLA), underscoring her leadership within the professional community. Her notable achievements include the design of the Front Garden of the Prince of Wales Museum in Mumbai, which earned the UNESCO Asia Pacific Award in 2010. She also conceptualized the Interpretive Forest Park in Nashik and worked as a UNDP Consultant on enhancing the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) for Maharashtra, showcasing her commitment to ecological integration in urban development.

In her role at VESCOA, Rajadhyaksha is committed to inspiring students and faculty by fostering innovative thinking and a collaborative approach to sustainable design. She holds a degree in Architecture from CET Kerala and a Master’s in Landscape Architecture from the School of Planning and Architecture (SPA), Delhi.
