The elite Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) will be closing its window of registration for admission to the 2025–2026 academic session , April 10, 2025. Prospective students who aspire to claim a seat in one of the university’s competitive undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, or doctoral programmes are recommended to finalize the application process through the official admissions portal before the deadline.

The online application for admission started from March 5, 2025. Large numbers of students from all over India and the world have filled out applications for different programmes conducted by the central university since then. JMI, which boasts a wide range of academic programs and open admissions, has reemphasized the need to verify eligibility conditions prior to filling out applications. As per the official announcement, the university accepts academic credentials from all central and state universities, institutions of national importance, and recognized foreign universities, provided their equivalency is determined by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

To finish the application process, the candidates are required to first go to the official website at https://admission.jmi.ac.in. Following registration with preliminary details, applicants are required to log in once again to complete the detailed application form. The application form submission involves uploading the required documents and payment of the application fee. After submitting the form, it is recommended to download a copy for future reference. The process is streamlined to ensure that it becomes accessible and user-friendly for all the candidates, including the overseas applicants.

JMI has also announced a number of student-friendly reforms in its admission process this year. Candidates from SAARC countries will benefit from reduced application fees, making it more accessible for regional international students. Moreover, the fee structure for foreign and NRI candidates applying to diploma programmes has been revised, reflecting JMI’s commitment to expanding global access to its academic offerings.

In a major move towards fostering global cooperation and inclusiveness, the university has kept two seats in its BDS programme exclusively for foreign students. Furthermore, foreign PhD candidates from abroad will now be able to sit for admission interviews online, eliminating the constraints of travel and expense while allowing brilliant research scholars to continue their academic association with the university as well.

Dates important to the application procedure have also been announced. Once the application process ends on April 10, 2025, JMI will open the correction window between April 12 and April 14, 2025. Through this window, applicants can make corrections or changes that they may need to make in the forms submitted. Admit cards for the entrance tests will be downloadable from April 17, 2025. The entrance tests, an integral part of the selection process, are to commence from April 26, 2025, and will be conducted over the subsequent days based on the programme.

In addition to this, the deadline for the submission of qualifying examination results has been fixed by JMI as October 31, 2025. Accordingly, candidates who are waiting for final year results or certificates are required to submit these documents by this date to ensure their continuing eligibility for admission.

With the final date looming, the university has urged all applicants to thoroughly read the eligibility criteria carefully, cross-check their documents, and fill up their applications a long time prior to the final date to keep away from the last-minute mess.
