The Joint Entrance Examination Council, Uttar Pradesh, or the JEECUP has now formally initiated the Round-1 counselling registration for the 2025 academic year. The hopefuls who cleared the JEECUP entrance exam during the year 2025 are now able to confirm themselves to the counselling process that commenced on June 27, 2025. The process signals the commencement of the admission process for hopefuls who wish to be admitted to diploma courses in the different polytechnic institutions in the Uttar Pradesh state.

The first round of counselling registration is up and running on the official website of JEECUP – jeecup.admissions.nic.in. The shortlisted candidates must log in using their credentials in order to proceed with the counselling session, where they will be required to fill in and lock their course as well as college choices. The final date for submission of the choice filling and locking process is July 2, 2025. Students are humbly requested in strong words to fill their choices wisely and lock them before the last date because their preferences will have a decisive impact on seat allotment.

Along with the registration, JEECUP officials have also published Round 1 seat matrix. The list gives a detailed description of seats offered in participating polytechnic colleges for various courses. The seat matrix will assist the students in taking an informed decision for their choice of branch and college on the basis of the availability of seats and their respective merit rank.

Seat allotment in Round 1 will be released on July 3, 2025. Allotment will be based on a combination of the candidate’s merit rank, reservation, and available seats in the candidate’s preferred institutions for study. Students who are allotted a seat under this round will need to pay a non-refundable seat acceptance of ₹3,000 to secure their admission. This charge serves as a guarantee to reserve their assigned seat for the meantime until document verification is completed.

After the allotment of the seat and payment of the fee, the candidates will have to appear in their respective allotted institutes in person for offline document verification. It is compulsory, and non-appearance at the campus for verification of the relevant documents or not submitting them to the campus will lead to cancellation of the provisional admission. Hence, the candidates must prepare the documents in advance so that there is no last-minute inconvenience.

The documents of counselling and verification that are made are the JEECUP 2025 admit card and rank card and counselling allotment letter, original and photocopy of certificates and mark sheets of the qualifying exam, a character certificate of the previous institution attended, a migration certificate (if necessary), and reservation or domicile certificates if necessary. Two recent passport-size photographs should be brought by candidates. All the documents are to be submitted in both original and photocopy form — two sets each — at the time of verification.

It should be remembered that the counselling process for JEECUP 2025 would be lengthy and would be finalized in seven rounds maximum. All the rounds would be carried out in the same process, providing students with an opportunity to upgrade their seat or gain admission in their desired branch or college. The process is so adaptable that students of different categories and merit have an equal chance to compete for seats in well-ranked colleges.

The counselling of JEECUP is a serious move for the students applying for admission in technical education through engineering, technology, and allied diploma courses in the state of Uttar Pradesh.
