West Bengal Madhyamik Result 2025: Top Performers Revealed

The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) has declared the WB Madhyamik Result 2025 of Class X students. The results, made public on May 2, 2025, show that the pass rate for the year is 86.56%, with 66 students placing in the top 10 merit list. The students competing with each other were extremely competitive and a testament to the hard work and dedication that went into their education.
Adrita Sarkar from Uttar Dinajpur is the state topper with a remarkable score of 696 marks out of 700, bagging 99.43%. Her stellar performance has led her to take the first rank in this very competitive exam. Anubhab Biswas and Soumya Pal are close on her heels and have collectively taken the second rank. Anubhab of Ramakrishna Mission Vidyamandir school in Malda and Soumya of Bankura High School both secured 694 marks and 99.14%. Their joint second rank reflects the competitiveness of the Madhyamik exams this year. Ishani Chakraborty of Tatulpur Sarojbashini Balika Vidyalaya school in Bankura took the third rank with 693 marks and a percentage of 99%.
WB Madhyamik examinations for the year 2025 were held between February 10 and February 22, 2025, in one shift from 10:45 am to 2:00 pm. The exams started with the First Language and ended with elective subjects of the optional category. The initial 15 minutes for each examination were provided for the students to read the question paper. Moreover, internal evaluations of Physical Education, Social Service, and Work Education were conducted from March 19 to April 2, 2025.
9,84,753 students took the West Bengal Madhyamik exams this year, of which 5,55,950 were girls, outnumbering the boys. This shows an increasing trend of female enrollment and achievement in the academic arena. In spite of the tough nature of the exams, the overall pass percentage shows the consistent efforts of the students, teachers, and schools in the state.
To view the results, students can log in to the website of the WBBSE, wbbse.wb.gov.in, and click on the link that states ‘WB Madhyamik Class 10 result 2025’. When they enter their roll number and date of birth, the PDF scorecard will be shown on the screen. Students need to check their details and download the scorecard for future use. But they must remember that the online results are temporary, and the original marksheets and certificates will be available for collection from their respective schools from 10:00 am on May 2, 2025. Students can collect these original documents from their schools around 15 days after the result announcement.
The results also include some valuable information for students who might not have done well in some subjects. Students who are not able to clear one or more subjects will be eligible to appear for supplementary exams. The dates for these supplementary exams will be declared along with the results. This arrangement enables students to better their performance and get a passing grade, so that they do not waste the whole academic year.
