“We Analysed Every Minute To Understand How Kids Learn Best”

Gaurav Brar, Co-founder & Chief Marketing Officer, of Bambinos.live, knows what it feels like to be left behind—not because of a lack of intelligence or effort, but because of a language. Growing up in a small town in North India and starting out in a Hindi medium school, his world changed at the age of 10 when his father’s transfer brought him to Chandigarh and, for the first time, into an English medium classroom. The transition was anything but smooth.

Once a cheerful and confident child, Brar became silent under the weight of self-doubt, struggling to find his footing in a world wherein fluency in English quite often determined identity and opportunity. Years after putting in hard work through these primary challenges, graduating from IIM Calcutta, and getting himself a successful corporate life, Gaurav co-founded Bambinos.live—an edtech platform built on a very personal mission: to ensure no child ever feels inferior for the English spoken.

In an interview with EduKida, he speaks about the challenges, students feedback and more

What were the key challenges you faced when building Bambinos.Live, and how did you overcome them?
We started Bambinos in 2021, right in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic-a time when ed-tech was hailed as the future of education in India. While it seemed like the perfect moment to launch, it turned out to be one of the most challenging.
As the pandemic faded, so did investor interest. Funding dried up, and scores of ed-tech companies collapsed. What made things worse was the growing frustration among parents-many had enrolled their children in online programs that delivered substandard learning. Products were rushed, teachers weren’t trained, and the trust in online education was wearing thin.
In that environment, we chose to focus on one critical thing: customer experience.
At Bambinos, our obsession was-and still is-delivering high-quality education. That means: A world-class curriculum, Expertly trained teachers, A clear learning environment that ensures real outcomes
We read every review, acted on every piece of feedback, and spent countless hours improving every aspect of our service. This relentless pursuit of excellence helped us weather the storm, earn the trust of thousands of families, and reach where we are today.

Bambinos.Live aims to address the English-speaking challenges faced by millions of students. How do you see your platform making a significant impact on students in Bharat?
Around 9 out of 10 students in India struggle to speak English confidently.
This isn’t just a language issue-it affects their academic performance, social confidence, and future career opportunities.
At Bambinos, this is the singular problem we are solving.
So far, over 30,000 students have engaged with our platform-and the results have been remarkable. From writing their own books, to delivering TED Talks, our students are proving that with the right guidance, anything is possible. But the most powerful proof of our impact – the over 6,000 reviews across Google and Trustpilot, with an average rating of 4.7 out of 5-the highest in our category among ed-tech platforms.
This isn’t just a number. It’s a reflection of the quality of the product that we deliver – A high-quality curriculum, Expertly trained teachers And a team that is obsessed with student success

How has the response been from parents and students so far, and what feedback have you received that has helped improve the platform?
Over 30,000 students have engaged with the Bambinos platform so far.Together, we’ve delivered over 1 billion minutes of learning.
But we didn’t stop at just teaching – we analyzed every minute.
We studied patterns, listened to student behavior, and continuously asked:
What do our students really need to learn better?
This relentless focus on student outcomes and real-time feedback has helped us build not just a curriculum, but a complete learning experience – tailored for kids aged 4 to 12.
It’s also the reason why we’re proud to be rated as the highest-ranked education platform in our category – trusted by thousands of parents, loved by students, and shaped by data that truly matters.

With over 6,000 active students and a positive EBITDA margin of 15%, what do you think has been the key to Bambinos’ financial success?
Customer Experience is Our North Star. At Bambinos, the key to our success has been a single-minded obsession with customer experience. Everything we do – from curriculum design to teacher training to product innovation – is centered around one question:
“Is this the best experience for the child and the parent?” We firmly believe that if we solve for customer experience, everything else will follow – growth, retention, trust, and impact. Both Gaurav and I bring over 40 years of combined CXO-level experience. We’ve built, scaled, and led successful businesses across industries – and we’ve brought every lesson learned into how we’ve shaped Bambinos. That’s why we’ve been able to scale fast, stay lean, and deliver meaningful outcomes – all while earning the trust of thousands of families across India and beyond.

Your platform has established itself as a leader in the online tutoring space. What role do you see Bambinos.Live playing in shaping the future of edtech in India?
Over the past five years, EdTech in India has witnessed both its highs and lows. But beyond these business cycles lies a far more pressing truth: India’s education system still lags behind, even when compared to many developing countries. This is not a challenge the government can solve alone. Private enterprise must step up, And at the heart of this transformation will be high-quality online education.

That’s where we believe Bambinos has a critical role to play. Built in India, for Indian families, Bambinos is reimagining learning for children aged 4-12.
We are not just another edtech company-we are a mission-driven platform committed to delivering world-class learning experiences at scale. With our relentless focus on outcomes, teacher quality, and student experience, we aim to bridge the learning gap and help shape the future of education in India.

You are targeting 100 cities by 2025 and aiming for Rs 100 crore ARR by the end of next year. What steps are you taking to achieve this ambitious goal?
The Bambinos Target audience of over 18 million students in the 4-12 age group resides in the top 100 cities As a bootstrapped company, we have had to prioritize markets carefully, focusing first on cities with the highest student density. But to achieve our next phase of growth, we must expand both deep and wide: and cover these 100 cities. This would involve
” Double down on existing cities
” Expand into new Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities where we see rising demand
” Scale our marketing initiatives, while exploring alternative channels to reach parents more effectively
” Grow our teacher and student success teams to maintain our quality at scale
” And most importantly, keep enhancing our product to drive better outcomes and stronger retention

We are currently growing at high double-digit rates quarter-on-quarter, and with our current momentum and scale, we are on track to reach a Rs 100 Cr ARR by the end of this year.

At Bambinos, we are not just scaling fast – we are scaling right.
