The Madhya Pradesh State Open School (MPSOS) has released the examination schedule of Class X and Class XII for the 2024-25 academic year. The schedule also includes details for the state’s special schemes, ‘Ruk Jana Nahi’ and ‘Aa Laut Chalein’, which aim to provide a second chance to students who dropped out or could not pass their previous board exams. As per the official announcement, the examinations for both classes, under all schemes, will be conducted in June 2025.
As per the schedule released by MPSOS, the Class X open school exams will start on June 2 and end on June 14. The Class XII exams, however, will take place from June 2 to June 20. Interestingly, the timings for both classes vary. Class X exams will be conducted between 2:00 pm and 5:00 pm, whereas the Class XII exams will be conducted in the morning session between 8:00 am and 11:00 am. Students are requested to follow these timings strictly so that they are not put to any inconvenience at the last moment.
MPSOS has made it clear that students appearing for these exams should reach their respective exam centres much before time. For Class XII candidates, entry into the examination center will start at 7:30 am and will cut off sharply at 7:45 am. In the same way, for Class X candidates, reporting time is 1:30 pm and no student will be permitted to enter after 1:45 pm. The answer sheets will be given out ten minutes prior to the start of the exam, and question papers will be distributed five minutes ahead of the scheduled time of starting.
The board has also notified that only new students who apply between March 1, 2024, and August 31, 2024, under the general scheme are eligible to appear for the exams. Additionally, students applying under the credit-based and other schemes between September 1, 2024, and March 31, 2025, will also be permitted to appear. Practical tests for students appearing for the exams for the first time, or those who were absent or failed earlier, will be held at the prescribed examination centres according to the official guidelines.
An important directive given by MPSOS is with respect to the admit cards. Students need to download their admit cards from the official MPSOS website and produce them at the examination centres without fail. Admit cards will bear important information, such as the address of the examination centre and the roll number of the student. Only on the production of a valid admit card will access to the examination centre be allowed. Students who are trying their luck under the second and ninth attempt opportunity will have the same roll numbers that have been already given to them.
After the examinations are over, the results will be declared on the websites: https://mpbse.nic.in, https://mpbse.mponline.gov.in, and https://mpresults.nic.in. Students will have to go to these websites and reach the section of results for Class X or Class XII. The necessary credentials like roll number and application number that are provided on the admit card will have to be inputted to view the scorecards.
In terms of last year statistics, the 2024 MPSOS exams had a whopping registration of 8,27,563 students with 4,16,501 boys and 4,11,062 girls. Out of them, 6,018 students were absent during the exams — 3,847 boys and 2,171 girls. In effect, a total of 8,21,545 students actually wrote the exams, of which 4,12,654 were boys and 4,08,891 girls. A total of 212 examinations were cancelled last year, of which 151 were involving boys and 61 involving girls.
The board reflected an impressive improvement in the performance in the year 2024. The percentage of passes in Class XII increased significantly, from 55.28% in 2023 to a heartening 64.48% in 2024. In a similar vein, the total pass percentage for Class X was 58.10% in the previous year, indicating consistent academic performance from open school candidates.
The release of the exam time table has given students a sense of clear direction and concentration while preparing for the forthcoming board exams. With rigid rules in position and sufficient preparation time remaining, students are now able to plan their study schedule effectively and try to achieve academic success.
