Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) has made a major move towards upgradation of the professional acumen of its staff by holding a two-day workshop on “Compliance of Service Rights, Conduct Rules, NPS, and Leave Policies for University Employees.” Organized by the university’s Staff Development Cell (SDC), the event seeks to imbibe faculty and staff with a greater understanding of some of the many service regulations that dictate their professional life.

The workshop was chaired in the presence of the Vice-Chancellor of the university, Padmashri Prof. (Dr.) Mahesh Verma, who underlined the need for consistent learning and professional upgrading. In his address to the participants, he underscored the fact that remaining updated on service rules not only enhances organizational efficiency but also encourages individual accountability among the employees. He appealed to the participants to utilize this chance to the fullest, emphasizing that information regarding policies and regulations is essential for professional development and efficient administration.

After his speech, the University’s Registrar, Dr. Kamal Pathak, addressed the participants regarding the significance of work as a basic pillar of life based on the philosophical thought that work is karma and needs to be done with integrity and commitment. He asked the participants to devote themselves to the sessions since the complete comprehension of service rules would help them do their professional job better.

Prof. (Dr.) Arvinder Kaur, Chairperson of the Staff Development Cell, also gave her inputs, encouraging the participants to learn in an open and positive frame of mind. She emphasized that the learning through the workshop would not only be to the individual employee’s advantage but also to the institution as a whole in terms of efficiency. Dr. Anuradha Chug outlined the different sessions scheduled for the two-day program, giving the participants a sense of the most important topics to be discussed.

The workshop boasts a strong line-up of illustrious speakers representing different academic and administrative fields. One of them is Sh. K.S. Sachdeva of the Institute of Secretariat Training and Management (ISTM), who specializes in administrative training and governance. Delhi University’s Dr. Meenakshi Sahay will provide information regarding leave policies and rules of professional conduct. Retired Joint Secretary Kanhaiya Chaudhary from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) will present pension schemes and financial rules, giving the employees invaluable information regarding their retirement benefits. Gaurav Anand of Delhi University will also explain service rules and compliance policies in detail so that participants gain a thorough knowledge of the topic.

The workshop is planned as an interactive learning process, with detailed discussions, case studies, and practical examples to enable participants to understand the nuances of service regulations. The sessions will cover important subjects like pension schemes under the National Pension System (NPS), leave entitlements, code of conduct for employees of the university, and financial rules and regulations for administrative work. Through interactions with experts in these areas, the participants will acquire hands-on knowledge that will enable them to deal with the intricacies of university administration more efficiently.

Throughout the course of the workshop, participants will also be able to ask questions to clear their misunderstandings and exchange meaningful dialogue with the professionals. The interactive nature of the session guarantees that the proceedings are exciting and applicable to the daily job of the employees. Participants, by the end of the activity, will not only be improved in their understanding and adherence to service rules but will also get an idea about how these regulations influence their career paths.

The final workshop session will be a test to check the comprehension level of the participants regarding the subjects studied. This test will be conducted to confirm that employees have learned the most important sections of the training. Certificates will be issued to those who pass the workshop, acknowledging their dedication to professional growth and service excellence.

Through activities such as this workshop, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University reaffirms its commitment to developing a well-educated and effective workforce. By empowering its staff with the required knowledge and skills, the university not only boosts its institutional effectiveness but also ensures an environment of accountability and professionalism. The training program is a reflection of the university’s commitment to learning and its proactive process in staff development.

At the event’s closing, participants should take their learning with them into their day-to-day work, putting the knowledge acquired into practice for streamlining administrative processes and maintaining the high standards of governance within the university. With a thrust for compliance, ethical behavior, and professional development, the workshop has created a benchmark for subsequent training programs that will reinforce the university’s workforce and institutional infrastructure even more.
