No Separate Counseling Fee At GGSIPU This Year

There is no extra charge for counseling in order to gain admission to GGSIPU.

May 24, New Delhi With the goal of bringing clarity and financial assistance to aspirants, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) has stated that candidates seeking admission to different academic courses will not be subject to any further counseling participation fees. This is true for those seeking admission through national-level tests (NLTs) as well as those applying through the university’s Common Entrance Tests (CETs).

The university’s most recent order resolves a frequent misunderstanding that students and their parents encounter annually during the admissions procedure. Many institutions have historically required separate payments for counseling participation, frequently imposed after the initial application process. This year, however, GGSIPU has improved the system by combining the fees. At the time of application submission, a one-time fee of ₹2500 was assessed, which covered both the application fee and the cost of participating in counseling. Applicants are no longer required to make any more payments when the counseling rounds begin.

Thousands of prospective students seeking admission to the university’s diverse selection of undergraduate and graduate courses will rejoice at the news. These are highly sought-after programs in areas like management, law, engineering, and health sciences, to name a few. The admission procedure is predicted to become easier for students from all around the nation, particularly those who experience logistical and financial difficulties throughout the intense admissions season, as a result of the fee structure’s simplification.

According to the university’s announcement, registered candidates will be able to choose their favorite alternatives from the list of available programs after the counseling procedure begins. After that, they are able to get their seat allocation results without paying any more costs at this point. In accordance with GGSIPU’s dedication to fair and open academic admissions, this user-friendly, digital-first strategy is consistent with it.

Additionally, the announcement is positive news for candidates who may have missed sending their applications earlier but who want to apply for courses that take into account results from national entrance exams. During the counseling procedure for such programs, the university has made it clear that these applicants will be permitted to pay the total cost of ₹2,500, which includes the application fee and the cost of participating in the counseling. This flexibility allows students who may have been late or uncertain during the initial application period to still apply for a spot in the university’s renowned academic program.

Known for its merit-based selection process and emphasis on academic achievement, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University has always been among Delhi’s top public universities. This initiative to prevent unnecessary fee payments is expected to boost the university’s image for student-centered policies as the 2025 admissions cycle picks up speed.

Additionally, the university has advised students and their guardians to often visit the official websites—www.ipu.ac.in and www.ipu.admissions.nic.in—for updates, comprehensive counseling schedules, program-specific eligibility requirements, and other crucial information. These platforms will be the main source of trustworthy data during the admission process.

Nalini Ranjan, the Public Relations Officer at GGSIPU, released the clarification, highlighting that this action is a component of the university’s continuous initiatives to improve admissions and increase transparency. Education counselors and candidates have already given the announcement a warm reception, as they see it as a way to eliminate unnecessary obstacles and promote a more inclusive admissions process.

By eliminating the need for duplicate payments and providing flexibility in application timeframes, GGSIPU is taking concrete measures to ensure that access to high-quality education remains equitable and available to everyone. Such reforms by public universities can establish significant precedents as the higher education environment grows more competitive and technology-driven.
