UP Board Compartment Exams 2025 Application Open

Share

The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP), Prayagraj, has begun the application process for the High School Compartment/Improvement and Intermediate Compartment Exams 2025 officially. This action presents a major window of opportunity for students who either want to improve their academic scores or retake subjects in which they previously failed. The online application process started on May 19, 2025, and will continue till midnight on June 10, 2025. Candidates eligible for such examinations can get the application forms from the official portal of the board at upmsp.edu.in.

The High School Compartment and Improvement examinations are intended for two groups of students. Individuals who have been able to clear their High School examinations but are not satisfied with their performance in one or two subjects can appear for the Improvement exams. This provides them with an opportunity to enhance their marks and possibly gain better academic or professional opportunities. Contrary to that, candidates who could not pass one or multiple subjects and are in the compartment category are eligible to appear for the Compartment exams in order to clear the respective subjects. In both categories, an application fee of Rs 256 per candidate has been fixed. That needs to be paid in online mode during the submission of the application.

Besides, students belonging to the Science, Commerce, or Arts streams of Intermediate (Class XII), who have failed in one subject in either Part-1 or Part-2 of the board exams, are also eligible to appear for the Intermediate Compartment Exam. The registration fee for such students is Rs 306, which has to be paid through bank challan. It is mandatory for applicants to upload the fee receipt along with the application form to complete the process.

The application procedure requires students to visit the official UPMSP portal during the specified dates. Upon reaching the site, they must select the appropriate category—either “High School Compartment/Improvement” or “Intermediate Compartment”—from the Examinations tab. The students have to complete their personal and academic information, choose the subjects relevant to them, upload their required documents, and go through the fee payment process. After the completion of the application process, the applicants are requested to download and keep the confirmation copy with them for future reference.

Heads of government, assisted, and recognized unaided schools play a significant role in the application process. It is up to them to coordinate and ensure that all eligible students’ application forms are submitted to the corresponding regional board offices by the final deadline of June 10, 2025. This central submission process is to ensure transparency and accuracy in the examination system.

For the topics which have both theoretical and practical elements or internal tests, the candidates are required to appear for both the written and practical exams. This is only necessary in the portion wherein the student has failed, unless the student wishes to reappear for both sections. This rule is to ensure that students are properly tested in all areas of the subject so that the integrity of the exam system is maintained.

Written and practical examination dates will be announced separately on the official website of UPMSP. Students are requested to keep themselves updated by checking the website frequently so that they do not miss any important exam announcements. It is the board’s intention to give adequate time to students and plan their schedule accordingly.

The compartment and improvement exams provide a second opportunity for students to correct their learning record and pursue studies uninterrupted. This move by UPMSP is a student-centric initiative, providing convenience and succor to those who perhaps got caught off guard during their normal board exams. With the education system still undergoing development, such provisions become important in creating a more inclusive and supportive academic environment.

Students and school authorities are requested to follow strictly the deadlines and instructions for ensuring a successful and trouble-free application process. With the window for applications now open, prompt action is required for all wishing to avail themselves of this chance.
