Jac Board Class Xi Exam 2025 Timetable Released

The Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) has released the schedule for the Class XI exams, which will be conducted from May 20 to May 22, 2025. The examinations will be conducted in two sessions per day, spread over three days. As per the notification given by the JAC, students are required to pass a minimum of four among the five subjects to clear the exam successfully. The pattern of the exam is such that there are 40 multiple-choice questions in each paper with one mark, which will be a total of 40 marks. Along with this, 10 marks will be awarded for internal assessments held at the school level. The council also notified the schools that the admit cards of the students would be downloadable from May 13, 2025, and school authorities are to distribute these cards among the students.
The examinations will be conducted on two different occasions each day. The morning session will be conducted between 10:45 am and 12:00 pm, and the afternoon session will be conducted between 2:00 pm and 3:15 pm. The duration and timings of the exams are planned to allow sufficient time for students to fill in the papers and check their answers. Prior to the commencement of the exams, students will be provided with 15 minutes to glance through the question paper. Furthermore, students are recommended to report to the examination center at least 30 minutes prior to the beginning of the exam to facilitate a smooth process.
The JAC has also made it clear that electronic gadgets, such as mobile phones, will not be allowed within the exam centers, ensuring a clean and secure testing process for all candidates. The exams will be conducted via OMR sheets for five subjects, with multiple-choice questions being the major mode of assessment. This format is aimed at simplifying the evaluation process and enabling quick grading.
The schedule of exams for each day is as given below:
On May 20, 2025, the first sitting will start at 10:45 am and will continue until 12:00 pm. In this session, both Science and Commerce students will appear for their core language test (ENA/HNA), while students from all streams will appear for the HNB + MB paper, comprising 40 questions for 40 marks. On the second sitting, which has been planned for 2:00 pm to 3:15 pm, students of Arts will give their Core Language (ENA/HNA) exam, which has 40 multiple-choice questions for a total of 40 marks.
Examinations will be conducted on May 21, 2025. The morning session between 10:45 am and 1:00 pm is reserved for the Science and Commerce students who will give their Physics + Chemistry or Accounting + Business Studies papers. These tests will include 40 multiple-choice questions in each subject for a total of 80 marks. The afternoon session from 2:00 pm to 5:15 pm is for Arts students, who will appear for their 1st, 2nd, and 3rd optional subjects, with each paper carrying 40 questions for a total of 120 marks.
The exams will come to an end on May 22, 2025, with the final day of exams. The initial sitting, extending from 10:45 am to 1:00 pm, will find Science and Commerce students sitting the exams for optional subjects 3 and 4. Both the subjects will carry 40 questions, giving them a total mark of 80. The third sitting, which extends from 2:00 pm to 3:15 pm, is for the Arts students who sit the Elective Language paper. This essay will have 40 questions, adding up to 40 marks for the final mark.
The JAC class XI exam is an important exam in the student’s academic career, and the marks count towards their annual final grade. The adoption of multiple-choice questions by the council is an attempt to streamline the evaluation process and make it more efficient, so that all students are judged on a common and equitable platform. The focus on internal evaluations also brings to the fore the need for steady performance and sustained effort throughout the year.
The JAC has directed all educational institutions to take special care so that their students are well-equipped to face the exams. The instructions also stipulate that the students must report at the exam centers well ahead of time in order to steer clear of last-minute problems. Heads of schools have been ordered to keep tabs on the downloading and distribution of admit cards to see to it that all students are well-geared up to face the exam.
With the timetable of examinations made public, the students can actually start preparing hard, going through each subject’s requirements and coordinating their study calendars according to the particular pattern of the exams.
